ADA to the Future or Bust

Recently a good friend of mine decided to jump into crypto head first. Forgoing all general rules of investing like a true rebel/noob, he searched on Bittrex for the cheapest coin available and without researching it he put a couple of dollars down (cue hard eye roll). I, being a good friend, decided to support him and invested as well but with an ulterior motive. Thinking the coin was going to be a scam I thought it a great opportunity to teach him the value of research.

Well to my surprise it turns out that the coin we put our money on was ADA by IOHK/Cardano. (https://iohk.io/projects/cardano/)

Cardano is a well planned and thought out project built on the Haskell programming language. Some of the developments in the project include Plutus language implementation for smart contracts, Zero-knowledge transactions for privacy, a multi-currency wallet called Daedalus (https://daedaluswallet.io/) and Metadata to accommodate SWIFT.

One of, if not the most important innovations of this project is the Ouroboros P.O.S. algorithm, which is both scalable and as per their site, scientifically proven to be secure. (https://cardanodocs.com/cardano/proof-of-stake/)

The founder and CEO of development is Charles Hoskinson, a former developer for Ethereum and Bitshares. Funding for the project took place in Japan raising $600,000,000 through ADA's ICO. In short, it's a next generation platform/virtual machine supported by a solid development and marketing team that will, in my opinion, compete with the likes of Neo and Ethererum.
