The era of disruption that we currently face is impossible to avoid. During this time our world of education for administrative purposes is met by the use of paper. Please note that our education is the biggest contributor to consuming paper. If you look further, schools are the institutions that spend the most paper. You can imagine how much paper consumption by our school reaches 269,764 schools based on data from the Ministry of Education and Culture.

The author believes that eliminating paper usage completely and replacing it with digital facilities is also not a good idea. But we can reduce paper consumption by implementing a paperless school system. Paperless schools are schools that reduce the use of paper as an operation so that school management can run effectively and efficiently. Paper dominance was reduced and replaced by digital facilities utilizing developments (Information Technology and Computers) in the era of disruption.

Paperless schools have several advantages, as explained by Brad Cohen (CEO of SkoolBag). The advantages of paperless schools are, first, paperless schools can reduce waste and create a sustainable future. Even though the paper is organic waste that is easily biodegradable, it can disturb school cleanliness if it is not managed properly.

Second, paperless schools can reduce operational costs. Especially the costs of photocopying, printing and also the purchase of stationery. This is very suitable for schools with a limited operational budget. Third, paperless schools can support the go green program. As it is known that the raw material for paper is a tree. Paperless schools are indirectly able to reduce the felling of trees for raw materials for making paper.
