Hello everyone ๐,
Happy hump day ๐๐ and a very warm welcome to my world ๐. Another wonderful and active day is fading away fast. Before bedtime ๐ด let's quickly take a look at how my day has been and share some of the trending stories. Thank you for stopping by and let's get it done ๐จ.
I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a beautiful sunny ๐ morning as I made my way. A short walk that I enjoyed and then I was back indoors thirty minutes later. I then rested for a while, caught up with emails, watched the news and then the usual chores around the house.
My next stepping came later in the afternoon going to the city centre for some errands. This time a cloudy day as I made my way. It was nap time when I got back indoors, I woke up some time early evening and got on with the cooking, watching a little bit of news and youtube .Next came the evening or sunset walk, it looked like it would rain but it didn't and I made it back home safe and sound. Now let's quickly look at what has been trending in the news today.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going๐น, today was a day of protests in parts of the city, people protesting the soaring costs of living and the new taxes proposed by the govt. More than 300 people arrested as police dispersed crowds with teargas๐.
Globally, Ukraine trending as Russia hit the port city of Odessa with drones for a second night in a row๐. Some of the drones were shot down but most got through destroying export facilities at the port.
Speaking of export, Putin has said he will renew the grain export deal if Russian demands are met. Russia has declared Ukraine bound ships as potential carriers of military cargo from tonight๐.
Trending in the UK, the inflation rate fell to lower than expected 7.9% in June from 8.7% in May.
Let's go to middle east, Israeli forces have carried out raids in the occupied west bank yet again arresting ten Palestinians๐.
Finally in crazy weather, that heatwave in Europe kept going. Today wild fires ๐ฅ reported in Athens, Greece. The fires moving dangerously close to residential homes๐. Let's hope they will be tamed๐ฏ.
