My Actifit Report Card: October 10 2019
I had a short walk after I had my lunch. In the afternoon, I got the chance to do the grocery and walk around town. Did a bit of trimming of the shrubs around the yard to take advantage of the good weather before it the rain arrives in the coming days.
This is called "pagmamano", a cultural sign of respect for Filipinos. It is called "kissing the hands" in English though literally it is not correct as hands are not kissed but put into the forehead of the one asking the blessing. Those who are usually do the pagmamano are children and they do this to their parents, grandparents and older relatives. The one asked will bless the child and will say "Pagpalain ka nawa ng Diyos)" (May God bless you). It is not limited to children though, even adults do this to those older than them. Like me, I do this all the time when I visit my parents and when I am about to leave their house.
