Tomorrow: The first day of the rest of my life | Actifit: Feb 3, 2019

I believe each day we make a million small choices which alter the trajectory of our lives, for better or worse.

With that in mind, tomorrow is the first day of my six week, 500,000 step challenge, and I am calling it the 500k Challenge.

500K Challenge

Yup, I aim to step 500,000 times over the next 42 days.

Why? Health, strength, weight loss, and as a test of my will.

Also my office has organized a fitness challenge wherein the participants can win a new Fitbit, and of course I'd love that.

One of the fitness challenge components is to do 10,000 steps a day, everyday, for 42 days, but why stop there? I am aiming for a full and even 500,000 over 6 weeks, or approx 12,000 steps per day.

Half a million steps, now that's a goal.

During my fitness challenge I will measure my body fat and inches weekly, and when I do, and I will post the progress here.

Steps are just one of my daily goals. Also I will be playing sports, journaling, and eating only fresh foods. In case you're interested I will link the full fitness challenge checklist, which lists all my goals.

After all this, hopefully in 42 days I will be stronger, slimmer and wearing a NEW fitbit.

Solid goal man! Good luck! That's definitely doable especially if you mix in some jogging.

Duder, you inspired me. I bought another 1000 steem today, I also set some orders for a lower price steem. Kinda hoping that the orders dont fill, but if they do I'll be happy too, torn between the two possibilities.

That's awesome man! Yeah, that's a good move. I've been a professional prop trader for about 10years now and one of the best things I've learned is to scale in & out of my positions... Diversify your timing to so speak... So setting lower limit orders like you have, is exactly the right thing to do. That will lower your variance.

I’m definitely going to get that many steps over the next 42 days! I’m good for 15,000 steps at my job virtually every day. I just have to get to 10,000 on the weekends!

Thanks man, I am hopeful. I sit all day at work, so if I want to hit it, I have to go hard at the gym at lunch, and walk to and from my bus loop, each day.

I think 500K steps will be one of the easier components of my work challenge, one of the harder things for me will be diet centred, like: "Reduce processed food - nothing from a box", I eat a lot of snack bars, protein bars, dried noodles, etc. Diet is my weak link.

15,000 steps a day is great, good for you broseff.

Me too! Im a bit nervous, and doubtful, but I just keep telling myself "I got this". Intentionality is going to be the key, if I want it, I gotta get it, if I choose to sit back and be passive, I will fail.

p.s. loved those pictures from your walk the other day. I love old architecture and mechanical devices, tools, anything that is old, because of the story it tells. The idea that many people came before me and used these things (buildings, or tools) always makes my imagination go wild with wonder and awe.

Yes I love the old stuff to and it always makes me wonder how the built and mad some of these back all those years ago.
