I downloaded this app yesterday and it looks pretty cool. I've got over 3K today so far. If may have counted my 12 or 13 laps on the Oval this afternoon, but I don't think it captures cycling: did about 15 km around the city and back home. I should see the difference when I walk to work, then remember to keep the phone on me while on the job. I can usually hit over 10K steps with my Fitbit when walk to work then around the city a bit before coming home. Today was the first test for my studded tires on the bicycle--what a difference new studs make. Still, I got 10 winters out of the other pair. I'll get a good feel for them on the frozen lakes once we get past this storm and back into cold.
