Peucicap in Aceh Culture

The people of Aceh have their own customs in the journey of the newborn child. Peucicap custom and peutron bak tanoh one of them.

Peucicap custom is usually done on the seventh day of the baby born, which is accompanied by cuko ok (shaving hair) and naming the baby. During the 44 days of birth, many infant mothers undergo abstinations. He must remain in the tool, should not go around let alone out of the house. During the abstinence, the baby's mother is always warmed with embers that remain beside or under her bed. The period of abstinence inu called madeung.
