Once we know the definition of metamorphosis, then we discuss the imperfect grasshopper metamorphosis. why is it said not perfect? Because the grasshopper life cycle only experienced 3 phases because grasshoppers do not experience the pupa/cocoon phase. whereas perfect metamorphosis has a 4-phase cycle like on a butterfly.
