Clouds Also Predicted Selimuti Super Blue Blood Moon in Aceh

Aceh - Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Blang Bintang predicts that the weather in some parts of Aceh will be cloudy in the evening. People in some districts in Tanah Rencong can witness the rare phenomenon of Super Blue Blood Moon.

Head of Data and Information BMKG Sultan Iskandar Muda, Blang Bintang, Zakaria, said, based on observations from Himawari satellite images, a number of places in Aceh today look bright cloudy. Only a few regions have Comulonimbus cloud cells.

"Only Aceh Jaya, Singkil and Southeast Aceh are few visible little Comulonimbus cloud cell," Zakaria said when talking to AFP on Wednesday (31/1/2018).

BMKG predicts that people living in some districts of Aceh can watch the lunar eclipse. The observation of the eclipse in Banda Aceh was conducted in two locations.

Kemenag Aceh Regional Office conducted observations in the office yard by providing 10 units of telescopes. There, monitoring is open to the general public. While BMKG held on top of TDMRC Ulee Lheue Banda Aceh building.

"So from that basis we predict that later in the night most parts of Aceh can be observed lunar eclipses including Banda Aceh, Sabang, northern part of Aceh Besar," said Zakaria.

Aceh Ministry of Religious Affairs called on the people of Aceh to hold an eclipse prayer. In Kanwil Kemenag, salat prayer eclipse (khusuf) will be led Ustad Ivan Aulia and Khatib, Dr. Saifullah Yunus.
