BANDA ACEH Rector Unsyiah, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samsul Rizal MEng, on Wednesday 07 February launched the launching of electric car "Malem Diwa Urban R 2 0" by the students majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering Faculty (FT) of the university.
The launch of the Pinto Aceh electric car was held on the campus. The plan, electric cars that will be included in the International Competition Shell Eco Marathon in Singapore, March.
"We support the work of students to compete in international events. The electric car has been innovated to compete in Singapore, "said Rector in his speech at the event.
Meanwhile, to make it as a commercial product, according to Prof. Samsul, the resulting work still takes time. "The problem is there is a battery electric battery. So, how to make the battery can last long and can be charged quickly. The issue of electric cars now is the battery, while others students can make, "he said while declaring that if the industry is needed government support.
Chairman of the Laboratory of Design and Manufacturing Department of Mechanical Engineering FT Unsyiah, Muhammad Tadjuddin added every year his party follows the competition of electric energy-efficient cars at the national level, and this year is the first time to participate in international events.
"Every year we also make improvements. This improvement is somewhat significant because we want to compete in international events and we want to improve the achievement of the car itself. It improves in the mechanism, we make a system so that it can be more efficient. Because the winner is the most efficient car, "said Muhammad Tadjuddin.
Chairman of the Laboratory of Design and Manufacturing Department of Mechanical Engineering FT Unsyiah, Muhammad Tadjuddin also said, the car is not designed for high speed but to save energy. In addition, according to Tadjuddin, there is no minimum speed regulation can not be below 29 km / hour.
"So, when we compete for 30 minutes later will be measured how much energy is consumed in that time. Efficiently assessed rate, our car to Singapore we expect to be close to 100 km / kwh, "said Tadjuddin who is also a lecturer in the project.
Regarding the design of Pinto Aceh's chosen motif, he said, it was done to introduce Aceh's unique motif to the international arena.
