How do you recognize (child) abuse.

in #abuse7 years ago

Domestic violence is increasingly being reported.

Whether more domestic violence takes place than a few years ago is unclear.
There are more reports of abuse, but there is still a lot of ignorance about how to recognize abuse, how to help, what kind of abuse exists with some information about what it means and what the emotional consequences are.

Because my education is about the psychology of a human being, I would like to share a small part with you.

First of all, I am talking about how you can recognize (child) abuse.

It's not always the bruisings , you can recognize (child) abuse by many more signs.
A lot of kids do the same thing outside the house because children learn that it's normal to hit someone.
Some children do the opposite and fear that everyone will hurt them if they do something wrong, so they become silent, shy, emotional and understated.

Signs such as aggressive time, bullying, shy, emotional, ADHD can lead to abuse at home.

Often victims are ashamed of being abused.
Not only shame but dependence can be a reason to keep everything secret.

You can always help someone who is getting abused of is abusing!!
If somone is saying something about it or is giving hints , take this very seriously.

You can always call the police for domestic violence even if you have a suspicion but are not sure.

There are special site's to visit and special numbers to call when you want reporting domestic violence.
There are several sites and different numbers per country to report domestic violence, so it's important to search the good site / number on the internet.

Always take a victim seriously!

You have different types of abuse.
I will list what types.

  1. domestic violence (this happens only at home)
  2. Psychological abuse (this type of abuse only happens with words)
  3. Child abuse (children are only maltreated)
  4. Elder abuse (in which elderly people are being abused)
  5. Parental abuse (this is where children abuse their parents)
  6. Women's abuse (where the man abused the woman)
  7. Men's abuse (the woman abused the man)
  8. sexual abuse ((here we speak of assault and rape)

There is always permanent damage to the psyche of someone who has been abused.

As a victim, you can process and get stronger, but there will always be a part who knows what situation it was.
Most of the time , a victim suffers from PTSD when they escaped from the situation.
PTSD is good to treat with a psychologist and if needed a psychiatrist.
If you go to your GP, you can ask for help with how to proceed, or you can report to your GP if you are being abused.

Do you doubt if you are being abused?
ANYTHING somebody does what you indicate is not wanting to be maltreatment.
If the perpetrator says he will never do it anymore but he keeps doing search than security!
Go to the GP and report or call the police and make sure you are safe.

Remember there is always a way out!
