As I said in my post on the IDEA ECONOMY : we live in a complex world and a lot is going to change in the next few years a lot faster than we think.

A key driver which is going to accelerate this is the concept of ABUNDANCE.
The first time I learned about this idea was from Peter Diamandis. I was following him since the X-prize days and he never ceases to amaze with his big picture views and insights. Reading his book Abundance really was an experience. It filled me with excitement about the future!

To make sense of what is happening in our modern world and what changes are coming you REALLY need to understand this concept. Consider it part of the toolkit of mental models you need to have to navigate the next few years!

Scarcity in many cases does not exist.
What we call scarcity is usually more accurately UNAVAILABILITY or ECONOMIC INACCESSIBILITY.
Technology allows us to make what was previously "scarce", abundant.

Technology is advancing at a breakneck pace
Steemit.com`s growth is just one example of that pattern
and is making more and more things that were scarce before abundant.

Meaning in some cases a technology has a price so low that it trends towards 0, in fact according Kevin Kelly that is what technology wants, it wants to drive the price ever downwards to the point where it comes to just about free.

This will have PROFOUND impacts on ALL our assumptions about our economy, how we generate our income, how things like Steemit.com can work (sounds like free money right), how we are incentivized and how we value products and services.

Just today I received on my mailing list a new short and sweet video from Peter Diamandis focussing on this one concept.
