CRICKET IS A RELIGION IN INDIA : 11 GODS😮

in #abhijeet7 years ago (edited)

Hello friends lets get started.... CRICKET is no longer only a bat and ball game played between two nations. Cricket is more than a religion in our country. Mllions of fans in India talk cricket, eat cricket and sleep cricket. From many decades cricket has influenced many people around the country and cricket is the proud thing for us, you can see how cricket players bring pride to the country. India is known for its diversity, with a number of religions and communities around the country. If you want to witness true spirit, extreme, craziness and patriotism all at once, then India is the place to be during a cricket match. For Indian people, cricket is not just a game, but a religion. You can very well say that, it is like football in Brazil.

The craze is such that, people watch a game right from the opening ceremony and pitch report till the presentation ceremony is over at the end. They watch every single bit of it, even the advertisements, so that they don't miss a wicket...a six...or a four. On match day, hopes and expectations of billions of people lie on the shoulders of 11 players of the team.

Obviously being a huge cricket lover as I always mention "Cricket runs in my blood" or should i say "Cricket is in my blood". My mother was a big cricket fan( Ajay jadeja's biggest supporter ) duing 90's and my father still enjoys this game both while playing and watching. Talking about myself as I already mentioned this game means a lot to me. I started playing “gilly-danda” when I was 3 yeas old then came "gali cricket" moved to club cricket and I cherished and enjoyed every moment of it. I had a habit of writing cricket records of magical moments from 90's and enjoyed watching highlights of the greats of the game Vinu Mankad , Imran Khan in those days then came " SACHIN TENDULKAR".....and I statred following him and loved his attitude towards the game. My mood on particular day depended on how Sachin played. If he scored a century, my mood will be jolly good . Sachin batting against McGrath, Warne and Donald was a treat to watch. The longer he played, the happier I became. I statred loving the game and love for the game is never ending. Today I follow every type of cricket like womens cricket , English club cricket or even some which you cant imagine like Nepal's prime minister cup etc. Be it any nation ...Be it any format...

The Cricket moments that i would never ever forget in my life...

  1. Final Match of Natwest Series 2002.
    2.Sachin Tendulkar's 100th Century.
3.Rain Saved England in the Semifinals of the 1992 World Cup.
    4.Desert Storm, Sharjah.
5.Anil Kumble's Ten Wicket haul in an innings.
6.#chokers...The mix up between Lance Klusner and Allan Donald cost the South Africans a place in the World Cup finals again.
    7.2001 Kolkata Test against Australia
8.Golden Bat for #Sachin Tendulkar who amassed 673 runs in the World Cup 2003.
    9.ajanta mendis..threat.
    10.icc T20 WC...Ind Vs England.Yuvi's heroics 666666.
11.jayawardane spl innings in ICC WC final 2011.
12.1st man on the planet to reach 200...Sachin Tendulkar's Double Century.
13.Irfan Pathan's Hat Trick Against Pakistan.
  2. At last..Its not a cricket match but an off -match gesture which is reverberating me as well.. #Sachin Tendulkar's farewell.

But guys do all sports get an equal treatment?? Surely no. We tend to display our patriotism only for cricket. National game hockey is being neglected due to an over dose of importance to cricket. If this attitude continues we will soon forget all other games. A kid claims that some day he would be like Tendulkar. Why not Dhayan chand ? Lets hope all the other sports get equal opportunity and exposure.

LOVE THE GAME AND LIVE THE GAME!!!!!!!!
