This is a story of true, but one-sided love. It is also a story of selfishness and ungratefulness, along with sacrifice. This is a story of Qiao and Bin, an underworld couple in an old mining industrial city, called Datong, in the north of China. It's the year 2001...

After Bin's boss was killed, Qiao wanted to leave the gang and run away with Bin and get married, but Bin said that he's not interested. One night a gathering of bikes surpasses their vehicle, and starts assaulting the driver and Bin. From the outset Bin wards them off, however there were many, and they start to beat him, and wanted to 'dethrone' him. Qiao snatches Bin's handgun from the back of their car and discharge a notice shot into the air, which drives away the aggressors before they could kill Bin.

Police arrived...

They told Qiao that the weapon is unlawfully possessed, and asks her whose it is, however she over and again asserts that it's hers. They put her in prison for possessing an illegal gun. She spent five years in Jail, and Bin does not visit her during that time.

After she is released from the prison in 2006, she starts searching Bin, attempting to call him, yet can never appear to connect. She heads out by pontoon to the city in Hubei region where he's living, and she is rather welcomed by his new girlfriend—Bin stows away in another room. Qiao says that in the event that he needs to part ways with her, he'll need to disclose to her himself. She has no cash to her name, and she conspires approaches to con a couple of outsiders for cash and nourishment. She procures a bike driver to take her to the power plant where she believes that Bin works, and en route the driver proposes that they have intercourse. She takes him back to their old betting parlor where she currently works, and a significant number of his old companions are glad to see him. He is presently stopped and hot-tempered, quickly beginning battles with different individuals, and Qiao almost tosses him out. He discloses to her that he had a stroke from drinking excessively, and she finds a specialist to help restore him. When he can walk once more, he escapes Qiao's structure, with only a concise phone message to state he has left. Qiao goes to the front entryway when she learns he has gone, however she doesn't see him.

Concluding remarks

In my opinion, this is a story of a selfish love. Qiao sacrificed her five precious years for Bin, but he just left her and did not even contact her while she was in prison, and after she got released, he did not wish to see her. Then, may be because of Karma, he got in wheelchair, but his nature did not change even after this tragedy with him. Qiao, because of her kind nature or her true love for him, again tried to help him but he left her as soon as he could. Thus, it is also a story of human nature and about the fact that nature does not change easily.

Overall, it is a good story and I will recommend to watch it.
