Day 233 of the 365 days of Writing Challenge: Fate

Fate

They will reach me soon, in this life or in the next one. I saw their scrawny faces without eyes, through the glass of the mystic ball that manifests my destiny. When the gypsy woman gave it to me as present, I didn’t understand its power and magic. But now, I really appreciate her gesture; I could not combat the three headed dragon or the lava giant, without been acquainted of my own future. However, I never had seen so clearly the evil that will come for me, like this time.

I could watch their pale and bony bodies roving across a fog covered forest. They will cross an asphalt road and then my yard; while I’m captured in a house, observing through the window how they approached slowly. That’s all I know. Maybe, I’ll die in their hands, or maybe, I’ll become one of them.

Either way, I’m scared of what they might do to the woods creatures; these horrors, who want me, only generate pain. As they move, trees will begin to die, it’s inevitable. And no creature will confront that plague without a backup army. If I gather the most powerful magicians and other magical beings, perhaps we’ll be able to stop them. Thus, I’ll not unite to their ranks nor die.
