These days, I'm discovering some places on São Miguel Island that I had never visited before. Some of these places are well-known tourist destinations, but I had never felt interested in visiting them because many of them are located in hard-to-reach areas.
I am sharing some photos of a recently restored windmill located on the north coast of the island, which was built in 1848. It is located in the parish of Santa Bárbara, in the municipality of Ribeira Grande. As I understand it, the windmill also functions as a museum to better portray the handmade production of flour and its history in relation to the customs of the nearby populations.
Often, seeing a windmill like this one that has been excellently restored leaves me somewhat disappointed because I would prefer to see the mill with some "scars" caused by the wear and tear of time.
I hope you enjoy it!
I am sharing photos of landscapes, moments and experiences. Nature and sea are the most visited themes in my photo collection, but any attention-grabbing aspect can be photographed. Hope you enjoy it...Location: Santa Bárbara - Ribeira Grande - São Miguel Island - Azores
