How did I find Steem and why am I still here?
This post is a response to the challenge set by @snook who asked "How did I get here?" and "Why am I still here?". Great questions and I look forward to sharing my experience and reading others!

So....
How did I get here?
Although I joined Steem in February 2018, my journey started about 6 months before - when Bitcoin and alta were on a massive run... you know the time!!
Around that time I became interested in crypto and the tech behind blockchain technology. At the time I didnt have the understanding (or balls...) to invest.
As time went on I looked at many other 'gateways' into crypto such as mining, but most required a big upfront investment to make any $$$.. and so my search continued.
One day scrolling through Coinmarketcap I came across Steem, and liked what I read - earn cryto from blogging! And thus my long journey began. It is a steep learning curve (I am sure new steemians can relate), and didnt bring great rewards at the start - I lost count of how many of my posts made nada...
So....
Why am I still here?
I came searching for money, and didnt find it. BUT early on I found some great people who shared similar interests to me - music and crypto. Although many have left a few are still here.
And slowly but surely things here have started to change and grow.. @actifit, @steemhunt, @dlike, @steemmonsters, @travelfeed.... and many more. Developers on here are amazing and dediciated and I am slowly seeing the decentralised dream coming true.
Price is just a number at the moment and I feel it may take a few years for the price to skyrocket.
In the meantime il be here, blogging, engaging and playing Splinterlands!!

It really is a HUGE learning curve but so worth it in the end.
Thank YOU so much for sharing your story. I know it will give other hope that if they keep on there is so much on Steem for everyone.
I see people are tagging hive-101745. What does it mean?
