The Good Fight

2016/2017 was the year of spinoffs.
Better Call Saul made history.
The Good Fight anticipated it.
The Good Wife's "rib" managed to impose itself for its uniqueness and its "brotherhood" with the mother series with which it shares many characters and many structural similarities.
But then why follow a potential "clone"?
Because clone is not.
It is a surgical operation on the contemporary, an attempt to tell our strange and frightening times through them, through the stories told.
It starts with Day 0, Trump's election, and it goes on day after day telling us court cases as if they were history pills.
But it's not just about moving forward with events, it's also about anticipating the "mood" behind the story we live through.
An example for everyone?
4 years ago the series was born as a response to the Chicago police violence and was born as a symbol of diversity, as a model for the struggle against discrimination of all kinds.
Suffice it to say that the lead law firm is an African-American firm born out of civil rights struggles. One of the protagonists is gay and there is room, in the course of the episodes, for every kind of legal, ethical, moral and social battle.
It is a miraculous and powerful series that has the added advantage of being endowed with a wonderful rhythm that never allows us to get bored.
On days like this, when protest is flooding the streets all over the world, it is incredible to see how 4 years ago current events imposed some reflections on us that we did not do just because we were too distracted.
The Good Fight reminds us what battles to fight.
Every day.
