@dan how about "scheduling a post" feature? [PROPOSAL]
I love Steemit. It makes me inspired every day. So many new people are coming to test this new platform, and I’m all for it.
In fact, every user, depending on which time he/she came, is going to experience more developed, stable, comfortable and clear website. There are already so many things implemented and enhanced since the launch of Steemit, which means creators and developers actually care about us. We do appreciate your dedication and believe in the vision of Steemit overall.
Apparently, by observing simply statistics, we can find out that people are coming from different parts of the world, like South Africa, Russia, China, U.S. I am from Ukraine for instance :)
This observation leads to my proposal, which is to create “schedule a post” button.
There are 3 reasons why this can be beneficial for everybody:
Reason # 1 – time zones
We probably all know that the time when you post your content matters. In this way, it will be a lot more thoughtful to schedule a post for a specific period of time, when the majority of people are actually online on Steemit.
Reason # 2 – maintain consistency
Another example of why that can be a nice feature is because it will ensure you maintain your content release in days when you’re incapable of doing so.
I know people who are managing facebook pages, create a bunch of posts on weekends, and then they just distribute those posts throughout the week. That is very convenient and time saving tool in my opinion, especially if you have some other activities to accomplish during the day or you know in advance that you will be unavailable for some time.
By knowing that consistency in your blog is a key, scheduling posts can be a very handy component.
For the record, I’m not a fan of facebook in general and I don’t even have a facebook account. But this feature I like.
Reason #3 – triggers
This one is also time saving.
There is this service called IFTTT (if this then that). It allows people to create recipes based on some action. For example, when you add a post to your blog, the tweet with the name and the link of that post will be automatically sent to your Twiter account, or even to all of your social media accounts if you wish.
Of course, Steemit is only in beta but I believe with its speed it can become #1 social platform.
Therefore, if there will be available a schedule button, it may be easier to integrate Steemit activity (like rss feed) into IFTTT or another similar services, which again will save lots of time and will allow to spread the message about Steemit wider.
To sum up, I should say that I’m not a developer of Steemit and I cannot influence the decisions that you make. All I can do is to suggest what can be implemented for the most user satisfaction and the growth of the platform in the future.

Scheduling content is a good idea for bloggers. But with the algorithm change, isn't it counter-productive to post more than 4 items/per day? I think we'll see more options as Steemit matures.
Actually I'm not talking about posting more than 4 times per day because with the recent update you'll have less rewards for all of the posts. I'm talking about scheduling even 1 post but in the right time.
I'd definitely love this feature. As I live in India, I'm asleep while the site is most active and vice versa.
Agreed. This can be a life-saver :)
Awesome idea!
This can definitely a be a good idea but don't forget that in the "off" hours there is less junk floating around, so there are better chances you can catch a sleepwalking whale.
Hmm.. I never thought about that. Thanks for a great idea.
I kinda disliked your idea at the beginning but after reading a bit i think it could be useful for some but it.would be skeetchy, you see when you post it's saved on the blockchain so where it would be saved on the meanwhile? I guess it can be done. I still like your idea.
How/ where can I instantaneously find out what is the most active hours of curators on steemit? do I have to look over data for hours?
This is great, but it would have to be done with something on your own PC. I've been wanting to build something for this myself.
The issue is, posting requires your posting key. For security reasons, Steemit doesn't actually store your keys. Your "password" is similar to the 12 word seed in bitcoin wallets, it's used to generate the keys of your account.
This could be done however, with an application that ran in the background on your PC, assuming you keep your PC on most of the time.
