Hello steemian friends, welcoming the holy month of Ramadan which is getting closer, I and a number of teachers at school today, Wednesday, February 19, 2025 carried out closing recitation activities to increase our knowledge in worship in the holy month of Ramadan.

Therefore, I recorded the important things from our recitation this time and shared it with all of you, hopefully this will be useful for anyone who reads it.

The recitation was delivered by Ustadz Nazli Hasan, a prominent religious figure in the city of Lhokseumawe. On this occasion, Ustadz Nazli gave enlightenment about what needs to be prepared and done in the month of Ramadan.

🙋‍♂️ Instill happiness in the hearts of other Muslims.

I sat close to Ustadz Nazli Hasan so I could pay attention to all the contents of the lecture he delivered.

One of the important points emphasized by Ustadz Nazli is about achieving the greatest reward in the month of Ramadan, namely by making fellow Muslims happy. One of the ways that can be done is by giving food to break the fast or dawn.

However, one of the best ways explained by Ustadz is by buying food ingredients such as rice, sugar, oil, and so on to be distributed to poor families, neighbors around the house or any fellow Muslim families who are known to be fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

Ustadz Nazli explained that by giving basic foodstuffs, the reward will be greater because it can be utilized in the long term. The food ingredients can be processed into iftar or suhoor dishes by the families who receive them.

🧏‍♂️ The importance of intention as a condition of valid fasting

In addition, Ustadz Nazli also explained about the pillars of fasting, there are two pillars of fasting, namely intention and refraining from lust. He also quoted the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW which explained that the intention of fasting was made after Maghrib until before dawn.

"Whoever does not intend to fast at night before dawn, then there is no fast for him." This hadith was narrated by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, and Ibn Majjah from Hafshah.

This Hadīth clearly states that if a person wakes up after dawn and has not intended to fast, then his fast for that day is invalid and he needs to make up the fast. Therefore, to keep the worry of not waking up at dawn, it is better to intend to fast for the next day can be done after breaking the fast at maghrib time.

🤷‍♂️ Guarding oneself from lust

Next, Ustaz Nazli talked about the importance of guarding oneself from lust and things that invalidate fasting in Ramadan. He explained that fasting is not only refraining from eating and drinking, but also from everything that can break the fast, including inserting something into the body orifices such as the ears, nose, mouth, rectum, and qubul.

Ustaz Nazli gave some examples of things that can break the fast, such as dropping ear drops or inserting a finger into the nose when picking your nose. He emphasized the importance of being careful in carrying out daily activities so as not to break the fast.

🙅‍♂️ Husband and Wife Relationship in Ramadan

In addition, Ustaz Nazli also mentioned the grave sin committed by couples who have sex during the day in Ramadan. He explained that although intercourse is an act of worship, it is a prohibition that must be avoided during the day in Ramadan.

Ustaz Nazli reminded that the penalty for couples who violate this prohibition is to pay expiation. Paying expiation means freeing a slave, feeding the poor, or fasting for two consecutive months without interruption. This is certainly very heavy, so every Muslim is expected to keep their lust during the daytime of the fasting month, including not having intercourse with their partners.

💁‍♂️ Achieving blessings

On that occasion, Ustaz Nazli also added about the importance of achieving blessings in the holy month of Ramadan. He invited all of us to multiply the sunnah practices exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad, such as starting iftar with dates and reciting prayers.

Things like this may seem trivial, but they have a tremendous impact so that we can get blessings in the holy month of Ramadan, said Ustaz Nazli.

He also gave an example of people who do not get blessings in the month of Ramadan, their bodies such as lazy in multiplying worship such as, lazy to do tarawih prayers, do not take advantage of the time to read the Qur'an and others. In fact, the month of Ramadan is a golden opportunity to multiply worship and get closer to Allah SWT.

This is one example of people who do not get blessings in the holy month of Ramadan, said Ustaz Nazli.

Finally, Ustaz Nazli emphasized the importance of increasing worship, prayer and charity in Ramadan, as all rewards will be multiplied. He also reminded us that Allah SWT will accept all prayers from His servants who ask. Ustaz Nazli's tausiyah motivated us all to make the best use of the month of Ramadan. Let's achieve the blessings of Ramadan by increasing worship, praying, and doing other recommended practices.
