Greetings to all lovers of knowledge, it is a thing of joy that we are alive and have crossed paths again via the Mark Your School on Steem Atlas Project presented by @miftahulrizky in support of @pennsif Steem Atlas' project. Today I will be presenting to us a theological school located somewhere in Nigeria. Nigerian Christian Bible College is an highly recognized Bible college located in West Africa, Nigeria to be precised.

It happens to be the first Bible College in Nigeria and was established in 1954 for the purpose of theological education, spiritual development and the Total Preparation of an individual for the life to come. Nigerian Christian Bible College normally abbreviated as NCBC over the years has continued to play pivotal roles in the training of gospel ministers, Church leaders, educators, missionaries, and well mannered individual across the globe. This piece of writing will be covering the following areas

The Historical Background of the School

This school was established in the year 1954 by the Lawrence Avenue Church of Christ in Nashville, Tennessee, United States of America. This institution was established in a little portion of land containing a very few buildings and it birthed the origin of biblical Education in Nigeria. Precisely, the school is located at Ukpom Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. This journey took a greater form in the year 1957.

In 1957, The African School Foundation (AFS) a highly popular African mission whose headquarters is in USA took over the sponsorship of the school. This transition laid a foundation for the fostering of Christian Education in Nigeria and Africa at large.

Having a work in the school

For the past years, Nigerian Christian Bible College has remained highly steadfast in its mission of ensuring that the vision of the Lawrence Avenue Church and that of the African School Foundation finds success. At the start, the curriculum of the institution was centered on training and equipping Church ministers and preacher who were in turn expected to train and teach the brethren during school worship.

Today, the Curriculum has grown beyond this myopic scope and it has extend towards addressing the dynamic of the preacher, the church, the community and the country at large. Gone are those days when NCBC graduates where tighten down to pulpit preaching, now they are trained on how to work perfectly in various areas of life

Academic Programs

In regards to the academic programs of the school, Nigerian Christian Bible College runs a wide range of academic programs designed to mould students towards theological knowledge and practical ministry skills.

Diploma in Theology: The NCBC diploma in Theology is a two years program and it is the cornerstone of the Institution as this is what the school was actually designed for.

During the program, Students preachers are always sent to different congregations for training and each students are expected to do a total of about 26 courses including a project work on theology. Among the core courses offered Include;

The Old Testament Survey	The New Testament Survey	Christian Ministry	Global Evangelism etc

Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies: This is the program that creates a nexus between the college and the University of Calabar, Calabar Cross River State , Nigeria.

The NCBC Bachelor of Arts Religious Studies program provides students with a more comprehensive knowledge on religious education and how this knowledge could be passed from teachers to students as well as preparing them for a greater role in ministry and academic. Among the courses offered here are typical Educational Courses such as

Facilities and Equipment

Aside from the aforementioned programs, NCBC takes into consideration the well being of their students. As such, they make provision for the following facilities and equipment;

Well ventilated Class room blocks	An Equipped Library	Computer and Audiovisual Room	Accomodations	Chapel	Good water	Electricity	A Football pitch	a Volleyball court	Security post etc

Classroom The NCBC Campus, Ukpom Abak has well spacious classroom blocks of varying size. This class room blocks are well equipped with facilities so as to enhance modern learning.

The diploma program and the degree program are both run on the same campus but at varying and strategic positions so as to optimize maximum output. In addition to learning, the classrooms are in most cases used as meeting venue, discussion centre and reading venues for the students who do not want to use the library.

Library The importance of library could only be explained by lovers of knowledge. Knowing too well that the institution compromises of people who loves knowledge, we have a well organized "Cato Library" which is under renovation as of today 10th of March 2025. The Library is designed in a format to support both private and group study. Just for record purpose, this library was named after Cato.

It had the capacity of containing over 5000 books including journals and magazines prior to this renovation. There's high expectations that the capacity of the Library will increase after the renovation is completed. Here at the NCBC Library, different students from varying institutions come in here for research purposes owing to its rich academic materials.

Computer and Audiovisual Classroom: This aspect of the school facilities takes into consideration the different learning abilities of learners and as well takes into consideration that certain concepts and constructs in theology goes beyond mere roye memorization. Here in this room, the institution have several computers which are interconnected with each other and the college's Starlink internet service. All this plays significant roles in enhancing teaching and learning experiences.

Accomodations: taking into consideration that many students may be coming from far and near to study in this institution, the school administration provides two hostels for the students.

**Male and female hostels

A male and female hostel located at strategic positions. In addition to serving the stress of transportation, it plays significant roles in enhancing a supportive and welcoming environment for both the spiritual and academic vitality.

Chapel: The NCBC chapel which is the longest and widest building in the school serves as a hub for spiritual and sole lifting activities. Students gathers here every morning afternoon and evening for prayers.

During this time, the words of God is always administered, songs rendered and prayers communicated. In addition to the regular programs, events such as lectureship, marriage ceremony, and seminars are as well help in the Rogers Chapel. The Rogers Chapel is highly decorated with a white and green painted walls, NCBC inscriptions and a baptistry used for baptism especially during their Annual lectureship programs.

Administrative Offices: This happens to be the Central processing unit of the school. It is a buffalo structures building located in between the football field and the Degree block of the School.

This is where all the necessary records of the school are kept. It contains the offices of the provost, registrar, Bursary unit among others. Right in front of the building is a beautifully made inscription "NCBC"

Events and Community Engagement

Nigerian Christian Bible College is a highly renowned hub for varieties of events ranging from the spiritual to the physical. These events plays significant roles in building the students spiritual and academic lives. This event in most occasions extents it's tentacles to the community as well. Below are the essential events hosted in the school

Founders Day and Matriculation Ceremony	Annual Bible Lectureship	Preachers and Church Leader's Seminar	Community Outreach programs

The Founder's Day and Matriculation Ceremony: This is an annual event that is always held every 18th day of Every at the school compound. This event is always celebrated alongside with their Matriculation Ceremony. Unlike this year, the school celebration her 71st Founders day celebration and matriculation of the new intake students. Often, the World Bible School which is a mission centered program also showcases themselves here

Annual Bible Lectureship and Graduation ceremony: This is another annual event held mostly in the first week or second week of August. It is an event that congregates more than 5000 people including men, women, and children. This event is always a 4 days program featuring programs such as; keynote presentation, songs, Bible quiz, drama and lots more. All these varieties contributes to the actualization of the Lectureship aim which is soul winning. On the last day, students who have been found worthy in Character and in learning are always celebrated and bid farewell

Annual Preachers and Church Leaders Seminar The annual Church leaders and preachers seminar is an annual event organized with the aim of restructuring the leadership of the church as well as equipping the preacher especially on contemporary issues.

In terms of outreach, youth seminars, prayers programs and songs program, the NCBC staff and students as always ensures the it surfaces and sees the light of time.

Sports and Recreation

The school owns a near standard football pitch. The field happens to be one of the best fields in Abak Local Government Area and this attracts football lovers from both far and near into the school for the purpose of recreation and contest. Notable events held here include; the NCBC Unity tournament, Ukpom Abak Unity Cup, Annang Unity Cup and lots of other friendly matches played for commiseration or celebration.

In addition to the football field, the school owns a volleyball pitch for people who may not consider football to be interesting. Specifically, this volleyball court is mostly played by the ladies since the men occupies the football pitch on a daily basis.

Social Amenities

Nigerian Christian Bible College takes greatly into consideration the well-being of their students and this led to the provision of both a transformer and three engines of different sizes just to ensure that there is a constant power supply for the students.

In regards convenience, the administration of NCBC takes it as one of the most important things and this as led to the building of new rest room for the school as of 10th March 2025.

Permit me to as well mention the solar system and how trees are being planted at tragic positions so as to enhance adequate ventilation. In addition to the trees, there's also a school farm and plantain farm duly safeguarded by the security personnel who watches from their post
