Education Map #3 - "University of Uyo Annex Campus Ikot Ekpene Road, Uyo

It's a thing of joy for me to join this week Education Map #3 - Mark Your School on Steem Atlas. First, I really appreciate the entire community as well as @miftahulrizky for giving me this opportunity.

Education is indeed known as a fundamental part of our life's, and therefore having a perfect and well-structured learning environment always makes a very big difference in shaping we the students' experiences any day.

The University of Uyo Annex Campus is definitely one among our major campuses in the school, located in Uyo city, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. This outstanding campus houses so many important faculties of the school, many administrative buildings of the school, and an extremely student-friendly facilities that duly support the learning process, research project, and also the extracurricular activities.

• Below is my detailed mapping of the University of Uyo (Annex Campus), highlighting its significant facilities, learning spaces, the tools, and other educational resources available.

Annex Campus Main Entrance and Security

The University Entrance Gate From Ikot Ekpene Road

The main entrance to this Annex Campus is situated along Ikot Ekpene Road, uyo. Here, the security officers are always active on duty to help monitor movement in and out of the campus premises. They always conduct thorough security checks both during the day time and at night to ensure the safety of all the students, staff, and visitors as well.

• The security team here always plays an essential role in help maintaining order and taking responses to quick emergencies. This really makes the campus a more safe environment for learning and other activities.

The ICT Unit

	The School largest ICT unit

Again, One of the most outstanding and significant facilities on the Annex Campus is the ICT Unit. It is indeed the only ICT center in all University of Uyo campuses, meaning that students from different locations/campuses visit this facility for any computer-based activities.

And Some of the major functions of the ICT Unit here includes:

• The JAMB Registration & Examinations – This very unit handles all the UTME registration and serves well as an official JAMB CBT center for examination.
• The University Online Exams – Many of the ICT-based tests and exams for Uniuyo students are conducted here and so the ICT unit are responsible for handling the exams.
• Internet & Research – Students of this great institution can access the internet for any academic research, project work, and also for personal learning.

The center here is very much well-equipped, and exams are taken in batches to help reduce crowding and stress to students. This system do ensures that every student in the campus gets a fair chance to use the facility.

The School Cafeteria

The Annex Campus Cafeteria is indeed the biggest cafeteria and as well the favorite spot for students who need food, relaxation, and some social interaction. It greatly offers a variety of meals, including both the local and foreign dishes.

Some of the students use this space for:

• Reading and studying while they're enjoying light refreshments.
• Relaxing with their friends after a long lectures hours.
• Buying snacks and drinks during a short breaks.

The cafeteria is made clean, well-organized, and very accessible to all students.

Faculties and Learning Spaces

The Annex Campus is the home to important faculties of the school that form the foundation for students in medical and the communication-related fields. These faculties include:

Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences & College of Clinical Sciences

This faculty is so much responsible for training medical students and as well other health-related undergraduates. It helps serves as the first stage of medical education before the students proceed to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) for further practical training and perfections.

The Donald Ekong Medical Sciences Laboratories is one of the best-equipped learning spaces on the campus. It is very much:

• Conducive for learning and also always open for the students to use.
• Very much Well-arranged and complete with the necessary medical and laboratory tools.

Additionally, the Faculty Notice Board is very much placed in a visible location where all the students can get important updates about their courses, their schedules, and other academic matters.

The Faculty Entire Building

Faculty of Communication Arts

Another key faculty on this very campus is the Faculty of Communication Arts. This is indeed where students studying Mass Communication, Public Relations, and Journalism take their own courses. The faculty is well equipped and responsible for the school media worka and journalism. it made up of;

• Lecture halls that are really spacious and so comfortable.
• The Media equipment to help the students understand the practical aspects of this communication and as well the school in Media related works. They own the Radio station Uniuyo 100.7FM, uyo

The School Hostels and Campus Road Network
The Annex Campus has a unique and good road 🛣️ connections where the Y-junction connects the road to many other major locations like the:
Boys’ Hostel and Girls’ Hostel – These where the school provides accommodation for students living in the school campus.
The ICT Unit - Which is Located nearby for easy access.
Faculty of Communication Arts – Also Connected through the road network.

The campus roads are really well-structured, making movement much easier for students and staff.

Sports and Recreation
For many students who love sports like myself, the campus has a unique football field that serves as a good training ground and match venue for all. It is made Open to all students who really enjoy football and other sports to use, it is Well-maintained and so natural with it natural grasses for a refreshing atmosphere.

• Even Other sports activities do also take place here, allowing the students to develop their physical and teamwork skills.

Day Care and Staff Schools

The Day Care School

Education here at the University of Uyo is not just for the undergraduates. The Annex Campus also has an institutions for the younger learners, including:
A Day Care Center – A more safe and comfortable space for the toddlers and infants care.

Uniuyo Staff Nursery and Secondary School – Really Designed to provide a quality education for children of staff members and as well the general public.

The nursery playground is indeed one of the highlights, with an injury-free play equipment that helps allows children to have fun safely during their break time.

Conclusion

The Annex Campus of the University of Uyo is indeed a well-developed learning environment that truly supports students academically and very much socially. From the ICT Unit and the medical science faculties to the hostels, cafeteria, and sports facilities as well as many others, the campus truly provides almost everything students need for a better fulfilling educational experience.

• With a top-notch security, well-equipped laboratories, a much student-friendly cafeteria, and a well dedicated sports field, this campus indeed remains a key part of the University of Uyo’s excellence in education.
