Suesa's Science Challenge - Results
The time has come, the challenge is over! Many of you participated in my science challenge and there were so many great posts that it was difficult to choose three favorites. A big Thank You goes towards @dber, @mobbs , and @justtryme90 who acted as judges and are active members of steemSTEM.
Now, before I reveal the winners, I’ll give you a list of everyone who participated:
@falcao12 is a mathematician and University professor who does research in the area of statistics and other mathematic fields.
@brejinrai is an engineering student who shows us the work of a land surveyor.
@biuiam joined me in the microbiology lab and is on the hunt for new ways to fight multidrug resistant bacteria.
@irime is completing her Ph.D. in Molecular Cell Biology and tries to find new cancer treatments, which involves making cells glow (and eating a lot of cake, it seems).
@mahdiyari describes a visit at a company that produces chlorine( -derivates), Hydrogen and synthetic hydrochloric acid while trying not to reveal classified information.
@stevescully is a former patent examiner who has a unique view on how the world works and does his own research.
@mcw is a scientist working in a synthetic lab in Hong Kong, who shows us the hilarious ways in which scientists sometimes have to improvise because the right lab equipment is not always available.
@jamhuery describes how he produced a batch of Silica Xerogell
@johnniec is an Environmental Analyst and has worked in more than one STEM-related job. He gives us a short overview and offers his dissertation on Algal Wastewater Treatment and Biofuel Production as a download!
@mountain.phil28 explains what a nano-car is and takes us to the big race in Toulouse, France.
@ahmed-elsheref studies at the physics department in Cairo and gives us some perspective on how big the galaxy we live in actually is
@mystifact gives an overview of a day as physics student which includes more experiments than one might suspect.
@fredrikaa works at the European Space Agency and gives us some insight on the work there. That includes eating Comet chocolate.
@bassemm explains the methods of logic to us.
@besteem takes us for a tour in a chemistry lab and points out the 5 phases in research for a young chemist – or really, any research scientist.
@innerlight takes us on the hunt for a rare plant and shows us the things that can be seen along the way.
People who participated but couldn’t be considered as winners because they didn’t stick to the given task:
@shristee describes how she turned an old radio into an iPhone dock
@holoz0r did a great post on the scary things you can encounter in a lab fun post!
@positivesteem did an interesting post about the different industrial revolutions.
And now, the winners:
The 1st place with 50 SBD + 325 Steempower delegation for a week goes to @mountain.phil28
The 2nd place with 30 SBD + 325 Steempower delegation for a week goes to @mcw
The 3rd place with 20 SBD + 325 Steempower delegation for a week goes to @fredrikaa
Congratulations! The SBD will be sent over by me, the delegation will arrive through @minnowbooster soon.
I hope everyone who took part had a lot of fun! I invite everyone to read all the entries, not just the ones that won, and maybe follow some of these Steemit-Scientists.
There were many entries that deserve some additional recognition.
Check out @steemstem and the #steemSTEM channel in steemit.chat and consider following the curation trail on Streemian to support scientists on steemit!
