Red-Spotted Newt AKA (Notophthalmus viridescens viridescens)
This amphibian is native to North America and shares the continent with 7 different families of salamanders. The Red-Spotted Newt actually changes through a gradient of colors throughout its life cycle. The newt is greenish yellow during its larval stage, reddish orange during the eft stage, and eventually olive drab during its adult stage.
