STEEM ATLAS [06 Mar '25] : The Atlas Challenge - 150 STEEM Prize Pool
Steem Atlas is going from strength to strength.
Every day many new people are finding the site, and many great posts are being added.
But there is always room for more.
To encourage more people to start posting on Steem Atlas we are launching The Atlas Challenge.
The Atlas Challenge
Regular users of Steem Atlas will by now have seen the Leaderboard that was added in last week's release.
This shows the top 50 posters on the site...
The rankings are not just calculated on the number of posts.
There is a complex algorithm that uses a number of different factors to work out the rankings automatically and dynamically. (Being a Steem Ambassador is NOT one of the factors.)
This week's Steem Atlas release (v1.4) included a further refinement of that algorithm.
With that we are now ready to launch the Atlas Challenge.
Every Saturday at 12noon UTC we will be taking a snapshot of the Leaderboard and awarding prizes to the top five Steem Atlas authors.
This will start on Saturday 15 March 2025.
The Prizes
For the launch week there will be a prize pool of 150 STEEM, to be divided amongst the top five authors...
1st place = 50 STEEM
2nd place = 40 STEEM
3rd place = 30 STEEM
4th place = 20 STEEM
5th place = 10 STEEM
How to take part in the Atlas Challenge
To take part in the Atlas Challenge you just need to post on Steem Atlas.
You can post about any place or location that you have personally visited. You must use your own photographs.
Posts can be about...
- tourist attractions
- holiday destinations
- mountains & lakes
- museums & galleries
- theatres
- sport venues & stadiums
- zoos, animal sanctuaries & wildlife parks
- churches, temples & places of worship
- restaurants, cafes, bars & any type of eating place
- shops & shopping malls
- universities, colleges & schools
In fact any places or locations that you can locate on Steem Atlas.
