Contest|" Memories From the National Meetup "
(Image edited with Canva)
On Saturday, 30th November, 2024, I attended the National Steemit Meetup for Nigerians. It was amazing. I got to meet a lot of Steemians. It was also impactful because I listened to speeches from some of the renowned Steemians like @ngoenyi, @goodybest and @xkool24.
Aside from that, I saw a lot of Steemians and that made me realise that the Steemians I interact with on a daily basis are real people with human feelings. It was just wonderful seeing that individual behind that username in real life.
Were you present for the just concluded meetup? If you did, tell us why you decided to attend and if you didn't, tell us why you could not make it.
Yes, I was. When I first heard of the meetup, as a newbie I really did not know what to expect. As the weeks went by, I read the financial updates from @goodybest and other articles concerning the upcoming meetup. It became clear that the meetup was going to be massive. Truly, it was.
From then on, I eagerly anticipated the meetup. I took a mental note of the Steemians I would love to see in person. Steemians like @ngoenyi @ninapenda @bossj23 @kidi40 and @okere-blessing . I knew I would be motivated at the meetup and yes, I was more than motivated.
What was your best moment during the meetup? And if you didn't attend tell us two things you have heard already about the meetup.
I enjoyed every bit of the meetup. My best moment was getting to see and interact with @ninapenda and @okere-blessing. I was shy at first to approach them, but I told myself that opportunity knocks but once. I do not know when next I will have such opportunity. And of course, I took pictures with them.

I would also add that I enjoyed the speeches given by our Steem representatives. I was deeply encouraged by @ngoenyi's speech. She told us about her experience with the online business. It was not rosy until someone introduced her to Steemit. Even at that, she struggled at the beginning, people were not interested. Today, she earns from Steemit. This was a very big motivation for me to be consistent in blogging.
Those two were my best moments from the meetup.
Do you have a steemian you would have love to meet that wasn't present? And mention 5 Steemians you met for the first time. And if you didn't attend the meetup, tell us who has been your biggest motivation to continue blogging.
As I had mentioned earlier, I would have loved to see @bossj23. Though we all felt his presence with the gifts he presented to some Steemians. He attended virtually, but it would have been so good to see him in person.
I actually met a lot of Steemians for the first time. I met @ngoenyi, @ruthjoe, @xkool24, @kidi40, @okere-blessing , @ninapenda. The list goes on, time will fail me if I mention all the Steemians I met for the first time.
Interestingly, I saw a lot of usernames I never knew existed for the first time and I was so surprised. I took note of them and visited their blogs when I got home. The meetup created some sort of awareness and I love that.
Share two pictures you took from the event and what those pictures represent to you? If you didn't attend, tell us 4 Steemians you would have love to take pictures with and why.
I took this picture in the midst of fellow Nigerian Steemians before taking a group photograph. This picture means a lot too me. Each time I look at it, it reminds me that I am part of a valuable community with like-minded people.
This was the first picture I took when I arrived at the meetup venue. I came to realise that the meetup venue is the same venue for the fitness training. I was so happy to be in the same place I used to see during fitness blogs.
I am so glad I was able to share my experience at the just conducted national meetup. Thank you for the opportunity.
I'm inviting @eliany, @goodybest and @blessedbee to participate.
I am glad that you didn't shy away from attending even as a newbie. I am happy that you were motivated by my speech as well as that of others. With this zeal and with the great steemians you met, you will continue to grow. I wish you success in your entry
Thank you so much ma😊
It was nice meeting with you. I wish we could be doing this every month. I was thinking you are not in Uyo.
It was a pleasure meeting you too ma. The meetup was really one of its kind. Yes, I'm based in Uyo.

You being more than motivated is amazing. Everyone of us you see today with high SP in our wallet started small. Nobody started big. We were all consistent and the drive was adequate to keep us up. Keep pushing and never give up. I am sure you will tell your story to someone soon.
