How Census Verification has brought angry youths by @justiceanietie

Hello great minds, its been a while now but thank God I'm here today. I hope we all are doing great.

Today i will be sharing with you how Census Verification has brought anger amongst the youth. Follow me closely while i give you details below:

Nigeria Census

In Nigeria, the National Population Commission (Census) is always held every 10 years. This is to make sure that the total number of people living in the country is been taken record of. When we talk of Census, it means the total head count of the national in a country. This include the head count of people from one household to another.

As i have stated it above, it always have the intervals of 10 years. This 2023, by April we are expecting census to take place and before now, the portal was open while we did the registration online.

Verification of Census here in Ikom local government Area, Cross River State.

Anything that concerns verification in Nigeria has always been a challenge to us, this is because of the way many youth are jobless after graduating from school. Census verification here in Ikom local government area had not been easy. I was not even informed about the verification not until when i was passing by, while i saw multitude of youth struggling, then i had to asked and i found that it's verification of Census.

I quickly went back home to get my credentials but i just wasted the day because it was unfavourable to me. I had to go back the next day and even the 3rd day but all my efforts was in vain. I had to sum up courage the 4th day but thank God i was highly favoured.

Many persons hadn't heard of this verification, since they didn't sent notifications to the masses. All the days i went for my verification, i saw real anger in the minds of the youth up to the state in which they pull up the gate to the entrance and this made the NPC officer to be very wrath at the applicants. Because of this, he entered his vehicle and drove off. That was how we all left and go home till the next day.

This has continued happening not until the third day when they sent security men to come and coordinate the applicants before there were calmness in the venue.

What really took time during the verification

It's only here in Nigeria that our authorities stress the need of asking her citizens questions that are not relevant to what we are doing. How can a NPC officer asking applicants the name of the presidents of Uganda? This was just a strategy to say that we did not pass the interview. Instead of asking us things here in Nigeria that concerned Census, he was busy asking us things outside the scope.

We are hoping that our names should also be included to do the job when the time comes. Please kindly tell me how your verification were conducted in your own local government area and what you have to say about it. Thank you for your time.
