My Dairy || 15/02/2025 || My Outing to a Funeral at Essien Udim

Greetings Distinguished Steemians I am very happy to share this piece with us. I and the entire students of Chemistry Education, University of Uyo travelled kilometers from Uyo Local Government Area to Essien Udim Local Government Area in other to grace the funeral service of Comdr. Uyai Ekarika's Father. Below are pictures and details on how my day went. I started by polishing and ironing my clothes before any other activities came.

Being the Stakeholders Chairman of my level, I had lots of responsibilities on ensuring that every members of my level are mobilized for the journey especially considering the fact that it was a very long journey. The Normal stress of making everyone reason in the same direction was highly tedious that I almost forgot everything including basic things such as:

I quickly rushed over all these while ensuring that I maintained effective communication with my group members and the driver that was to carry us to the location. Everything was set and we agreed to leave at exactly 9:15 of which our departure point was Ekom Iman Junction.

At exactly 9:14am I arrived the departure point only to realize that neither my colleagues or the driver was around. It was at this point that I realized that I did not take my breakfast. I quickly bought snacks to chew before the arrival of two of my colleagues who offered me a plate of rice. The hunger I felt made me to eat my rice at the middle of the road without any shyness, fear or intimidation.

Hunger called and I heard

At about 11:03am everyone where complete and we started our journey to the funeral venue at Essien Udim Local Government Area.

At about 12:07pm, we arrived Essien Udim and realized that we were about 10 items late out of a total of 23 items in the program. Everything moved smoothly as we commiserate with her, shared in the church contribution and as well performed certain aluta rituals as tradition demands. Sorry I forgot to mention that notable Steemians like @bossj23 and basil20 all turned up in person so as to grace this occasion.

After the aluta rituals, we were offered food and drinks. I collected my favorite drink 7up and sent it down with Affang and fufu. I used Rice to step down the whole thing. It was an awesome experience at Essien Udim before evening called.

Evening called and we had no choice but to journey back to Uyo. On our way back, we discovered that the once very distance Essien Udim was not as far as we saw while going there. I also took notice of significance structures I could not capture and among such structures are God's will akpabio Unity Hall, Police Secondary School, Essien Udim, a semi beach etc.

I arrived the house hungry and tired at the same time so I went out and bought fried yam, potatoes and a bottle of sprite. Indeed it was a day dedicated to funeral. May the soul of the department finds rest and may God in His infinite mercies continue to guide the family of the deceased.
