Hosting a Steemit Class on WhatsApp, Signing up 10 users on Steemit and Promoting Steem on Discord and X

It's one thing to promote Steemit and another thing to explain to those you promote it to. You won't be able to start explaining per individual, reasons for organisation which calls for hosting a mentorship class where they get to know what they are about to sign up for. Some days back, I can recall making a promotional post with materials I intend using to do promotion. I also stated that I already did the promotion of which the evidence is what I'm about to share.

Hosting a Steemit mentorship class on WhatsApp

This post tells a lot of things but I would be focusing on the class I hosted. On my flyer, I made it known that I would be hosting a free class on WhatsApp social media channel and I shared an intriguing flyer with the question;

Looking for a platform where you don't just earn likes and views when you post but earns cryptocurrency for sharing as little as stories and pictures on your phone?

The header is - Write, Post and Earn Cryptocurrency on Steemit.

Why did I choose this header? Majority are looking for ways to earn crypto coins other than just mining it which has deceived them or probably rendered them unqualified to receive. They waste their time to get nothing profitable. Now, can I write and earn crypto assets? This is very intriguing and that's the reason I choose this header.

The header served two purpose because as they come to know about Steemit, they'll know that the cryptocurrency they are earning is Steem coin and to those who may find it difficult to write, I can introduce them to investment ways.

Mentorship class. Important?
Hosting a mentorship class wasn't a bad idea because posting it just like that renders many people without a mentor and they end up implicating themselves on the platform as they join without guides.

So the mentorship class was to bring them together under my watch so I'll know how many signs up and follow them up. It was also a way of broadening their understanding of steemit as you can't explain everything in a simple flyer.

Date and Time?
I choose a time and date that favours majority in my state and I also posted this on my WhatsApp status not the day to mentorship but three days before the main class so nobody would say they saw it late.

On the said date, the turnout was massive. That morning, people requested to join through the link I posted on my WhatsApp and sent to those who messaged me X as they were interested as well. Since it was solely a WhatsApp feast, I didn't extend it to other social media platforms. Those who joined were told to share the link and flyer on their status as doing so may answer someone's prayers.

They did as told and many more people joined the group to learn about Steemit. The main aim of this class wasn't just to sign up people but to create awareness as many aren't aware there's a platform called Steemit. They kept joining till it was time for class which I commenced by introducing myself and also gave opportunity for group members to do same.

To maintain the activeness in the group, I promised to reward the best reactor with a prize. You needed to see how active these people were as they didn't want to miss the prize. The likes of @whizzbro4eva, us-andrew @nsijoro and @basil20 were in the class and I introduced them accordingly as mentors too.

Group members were keenly interested to know what steemit is about and how they can earn cryptocurrency by just sharing a story. I gave a breakdown of what Steemit is and how it differs from other social media platforms. I made use of voice messages and texts too to explain these things to them. I made use of convincing evidence that as they write, they earn a crypto asset called STEEM instead of mining it in vain. These evidences included screenshots of how I removed steem from the platform when binance p2p was still on use by Nigeria.

After deliberating extensively on how they can earn as content writers on Steemit, I open the group for questions. Questions came out in their numbers. Questions like;

• Are we registering with any fee?

• Can one post videos too?

• Does followers determine what one earns?

• Do you need to be influencial or have a high rank to be noticed? Is there minimum withdrawal?

I answered these questions and also gave them my personal experience of how I was lackadaisical about joining steemit then but here I am. In no time, I dropped the sign up link for everyone to register. To follow up, I asked those who signed up to drop their usernames in my dm. Most of them faced challenges signing in but I helped them solved those problems.

Outcome

At the end of the class, over 10 people created an account and are currently in my mentorship group where I train them how they can go about the platform starting from introducing themselves. **I signed up 10 Known people while others are yet to drop their usernames.

The 10 people i signed up and added to my mentorship group are shown below. These are the users that showed 100% interest virtually. Majority faced challenges joining. What were their challenges?

Challenges in signing up others

Not everyone you brief on a particular thing will have interest after briefing though that night, a lot of people had interest in joining. They were so keen about the platform but certain things hindered them for creating an account and following up with the mentorship. Some complained of not receiving mail they contains their password, others say they don't have internet connection and data, still others complained that after their exams they would create an account instead of creating it now and have it dormant.

These complaints were understood. So I had to work with those available to learn. This is the 13th mentorship class I'm holding since I started steemit and in each mentorship class, I train more than 10 people. That's how I moved the 10 from the preparatory class group to my mentorship group where they would learn the basics of steemit and strive in the process.

Data now has become a major challenge for most Nigerians because it's expensive and many can't come online as they don't have money to purchase data consistently. This is a warring problem that needs to be settled.

• Network issues
• Bad devices
• Data problems etc are the few factors that hinders many from joining steemit and getting mentored virtually. Regardless, the class was a success and the 10 I'm working with now have shown their level of interest.

Five created their achievement 1 post while others are struggling with setting up their account and still others haven't received mails. Don't know if there's a suggestion to this. These are the people who created their achievement 1 post, awaiting verification. They are under Mentorship for a period of 1 month.

Promoting Steem coin on Discord

On a careless chat with a friend, I noticed he's a crypto enthusiast and I know what most crypto enthusiasts have passed through these few months of instability in the market. Most of them are looking for ways to earn without losing money. Steem offers such an opportunity even though the price may depreciate as there's no one way of earning by just holding steem coin.

The man messaged me and in the course of our discussion, I asked him if he has heard about Steem. I then explained things to him of how the market is bad but investors of steem are making cool money without even dreaming of selling their invested steems. They have alternatives to getting more Steems by investing a large number of steems.

• You receive daily rewards for holding. The higher the steems, the higher the rewards

• You Upvote contents with the weight of your steem and earn rewards

• You delegate and earn and many others ways. You can earn as a social user, developer, business man etc instead of waking for the market to recover.

These are my written text to him and screenshots of our chats. He gave a positive response that he will look into it. I was glad I created awareness to potential Investors who many not see steem coin as valuable. The promotion helps them see that the coin is a rare coin that has multiple streams of income.

Holding 5000 steems gives me opportunity to earn curation rewards daily and also gives me opportunity to earn while I vote on people's post. The more steem you have, the more curation rewards you have. You can do your own research. It's done on a social media platform called Steemit that is decentralised. This is the community that backs the coin. And the most interesting part about this is that, there's no staking fee or withdrawal fee. Everything is done for free. You can take your money easily if you want to stop the earning process without VAT or percentage charges applied. I'm sharing this update because most crypto traders are down because of how the market is. I'm a crypto trader too but I find join in holding steem coin because I don't just earn by selling and buying, I earn in multiple ways by just holding the coin.

I also promoted steem on twitter by joining a space where I can promote what I'm doing and also gain massive followers.

Making data transactions with steems

On a Wednesday morning, a Steemian contacted me that he needed to purchase data subscription from me and that he has STEEMs. I gave him the flyer to choose his subscription package and he made the transaction and dropped his mobile number and network. I a minute, the transaction was successful on both ends. I sent the data to him and he sent steems which I confirmed.

If you're a newcomer and you're interested in getting mentored on steemit, I'm available to give out that mentorship to those who are willing to have a successful journey on steemit. For a period of one month, I'll be focusing on mentorship till they are grounded before I start promotion again. I'll just focus on looking for Investors who'll invest in Steems.
