The holy month of Ramadan is underway. I woke up late last night, like every day. Then I freshened up and had Sehri. Then I rested for a while. After a while, the call to prayer for dawn was given. I performed ablution and prayed the Fajr prayer. It was late in the morning. So, like every day, I lay down and took a nap.
I woke up in the morning and freshened up. Then I walked outside and spent some time. I spent time on my mobile phone. I used social media and Steemit. Anyway, I took a shower in the afternoon. Then I performed ablution and went to the mosque. I prayed the Zuhr prayer. Then I came home and rested for a while. I have to go to the market today. I have to do some shopping. So I got up, got ready, and went to the market. This is a market in our neighborhood. I have shared this market with you before. It is known as Chinakhali Bazar.
This Chinakhali market is located about three kilometers from our house. I came here by auto rickshaw. A very old market. There are different types of markets in different areas of the village. Markets are held in these places once or twice a week, meaning goods are bought and sold. Basically, everything from raw vegetables to fish and daily necessities are available in all markets. This tradition has been in our country since ancient times.

I entered the market. I was looking around at various items and vegetables. I noticed a vendor selling watermelons on one side of the market. He was selling watermelons by the kilogram, that is, by the measure. On the other hand, notice that lemons are being sold. The price of lemons is very high this Ramadan. The price of lemons really goes up during the month of Ramadan. Almost everyone drinks lemon juice during Ramadan. And so there is a lot of demand for lemons in the market. Meanwhile, they take advantage of the opportunity and make more profits. Which is never right.
This is a village market, so local vegetables are available here. I'm going to buy some vegetables. So I was walking around and haggling. I bought one kilogram of raw tomatoes and one kilogram of ripe tomatoes. Raw tomatoes are for cooking and eating as a vegetable, and ripe tomatoes are for eating in salads. I also bought 2 kg of cucumbers, a sweet pumpkin, and some vegetables. I am mentioning the prices of all the vegetables in detail below.
Per kg | BDT | STEEM |

After finishing my vegetable shopping, I moved to the other side of the market. While I was there, I noticed that different types of oil were being sold. Soybean oil, mustard oil, and coconut oil were being sold. These are bulk oils, meaning they are measured and sold by the kilogram. Anyway, on the other side, I noticed a paan and betel nut shop. The people of the village eat betel leaves. That is why such betel and betel nut shops can be seen in every market. Villagers buy their essential items from these mobile shops. Anyway, below I am mentioning the prices of various oils and betel and betel nuts.

After finishing shopping, I came to the fish market. Fish from different rivers are available in this market. As I mentioned earlier, this market is very close to the Yamuna River. So fishermen catch fish from the river and bring them to this market to sell. I bought some small river shrimp today. I also bought some more battered fish. In addition, more different types of fish have appeared in the market. These fish are being sold at different prices. I have given the price list of these fish below.
Per kg | BDT | STEEM |
---|---|---|
Pangasius fish | 180 | 10.93 |
Pabda fish | 350 | 21.26 |
Tilapia fish | 180 | 10.93 |
Silver carp fish | 160 | 9.71 |
Small fish in the river | 800 | 48.59 |
I have listed the prices of everything in today's market. I hope it will be useful to you. Anyway, I finished shopping and went home. When I got home, I freshened up and prayed the afternoon prayer. I felt a little tired. So I lay down and rested.
