Agriculture is mainly maize cultivation in Bangladesh.
Dear friends, how are you all? I hope everyone is well by God's grace. Alhamdulillah I am also very well. Today I appeared before you with another new Bengali blog. I hope everyone will be with me in the end.
Hello dear friend. Our house is in a rural area. Natural beauty can be experienced here. Here one can move freely like a free bird in the village area. People can move freely in the city too. But cannot enjoy as beautiful as the countryside. Buildings upon buildings can be seen in urban areas. And the natural beauty can be seen in the rural areas. Also seen are the hard-earned crops of the farmers. Looking at the field, green crops are all around. Besides natural beauty. Also, the natural beauty is mostly seen in the countryside. Today I am here to share with you some description of how the corn plant farmers do not care and profit. Below I have shared with you a beautiful natural scene of eating corn.
This time, corn has been cultivated in more land than the target. Corn farmers are dreaming of success by cultivating corn with little capital in the hope of more profit in a short time. Flowers and corn cobs are beginning to appear between the dark green leaves in the corn field. This brought a smile to the face of the farmer. Maize is nutritious for people. Maize cultivation has brought new momentum to the agricultural land dependent on rice cultivation. Again, the farmers are getting extra money by cultivating crops along with maize. Due to favorable weather conditions and modern agricultural technology, farmers have a chance to harvest bumper crops at low cost and time. I learned from several farmers in the upazila region that per bigha of land costs 12 to 14 thousand taka for cultivation, seeds, irrigation, fertilizers and pesticides and maintenance. The yield is 40 to 45 maunds per bigha. The current market price per maund is 1200 to 1500 taka. It makes a profit of 25 to 30 thousand taka per bigha with little capital. It can be seen that the vast crop fields of farmers are now filled with green fields of corn in almost all places including upazilas and municipal areas. Mocha fishing has also started. Now the farmers are busy with various tasks including tending and weeding and irrigation of the corn fields. In many areas the trees are knee high.
And in some areas the trees are taller than the people due to the early planting of maize and in some places the trees are mocha. Production costs are high in boro farming but when the rice harvest starts the rice market collapses. As a result, in many cases the cost of production does not rise. But as the cost of production of corn is low, the price is also high, so the farmers are inclined to grow corn. But I can't say how the price will be this time, if the price is higher then the farmers will benefit a lot. Maize is less expensive and less labor intensive than other crops. The price is also good. Selling raw corn 1100 Tk. If you sell a little late, you get 1400 to 1600 taka. This time more than the target amount of corn has been cultivated. Maize is a profitable crop. Moreover, farmers are getting interested in maize cultivation due to more profit in less time. Farmers need to be aware and come forward with multi-purpose use only then the sustainability and cultivation of this crop will increase to a greater extent. The country's needs can be met and exported. Below I have shared a picture of a large corn field.
The interest of farmers in maize cultivation is increasing day by day. Maize has more nutrients than rice and wheat. We use corn kernels as food. And corn plants we dry and use for fuel. Green leaves of corn are used as food for cows and goats. It is of great importance as fodder for ducks, chickens, and fish. Corn grows well in all soils except sandy and heavy clay soils. It is better to have medium or high land to cultivate corn. Because if the land is low, rainwater will accumulate on the land. Because of which all corn plants will die. Planting of maize beech in December and January makes the plants beautiful and yield is good. Also, the yield of maize farming depends on the correct application of fertilizers to the land. Fertilizers used in maize cultivation are given here.
