Fabric Hunt
As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I started to learn my passion from a professional which is sewing. I already knew when I started the class that I would need to buy a decent amount of fabric for the class, but it is actually quite surprising the amount of frequency that I need to buy fabric and I ended up buying so much of it already.
Since it’s an individual class, lessons are being completed faster if I get a hang of it quickly. I usually buy four to five different pieces of fabric thinking I could survive the month without going shopping again because I don’t have time to go to fabric shops frequently. But alas, they would only last for one to two weeks and I would need more. So I thought of dedicating two of my free days to do a proper fabric hunt.
The target of the first day was pettah as it is the closest. Even though its shops have a good collection for party wear and bridal wear for a reasonable price, I couldn’t find many designs to my preference in the materials for the casual wear. So I didn’t buy as much as I planned to.
The destination of the next day was Malwana. My barding aunt had taken my there because she is so into fabric and they had fabric for a cheaper price than pettah. It was like 1.5 – 2 hour distance from my home, yet I still decided to go since I wasn’t quite happy with what I bought from Pettah. And that decision proved to be very handy. I ticked off 2/3 of my list that day by just visiting two shops. I hope this would be enough at least to survive another 6 weeks without having to hunt fabric again. However, it’s starting to get quite addictive now! 🙊

Have a nice day!
