Storage Devices I Own | 5% for SL-Charity

Storage devices are really important to our day today life. We use those to store various types of data files we have. In this post I am going to tell you about my external storage devices. Let’s find out.

These days we take a lot of photos and videos. So I needed a large storage drive. Because of that reason I bought a 2TB external hard drive from dehiwala nanotek. I ordered it through their whatsapp account and once the bank transfer was completed, they immediately dispatched my order. The very next day it was delivered to my doorstep. I’m really satisfied with their service. I am happy to tell you that the drive is already half filled. Haha!

I have two other hard portable hard drives. Those are 500GB capacity. I made those by myself. It was very simple. All we need is an old laptop hard drive and a hdd enclosure. There are 2 usb enclosures in the market. One is with 2.0 usb speeds and the other one is with 3.0 usb speeds. I bought the 3.0 speed models. One hard drive was made by using my old laptop hard drive. Other one was made by Rasi’s old laptop hard drive. The interesting thing is one hard carbon copy of the other one. Since the photos and videos are very valuable to me, it’s good to have 2 drives as a backup. They are already on my computer also. So the chance of losing them is very low. As an Engineer, my practice is always minimizing the risk. Of course managing risk in Engineering is a very complicated topic.

I should honorable mention my 32GB pen drive. I bought this the day before I went to my university. That was 5 years ago. It served me very well. It helps me when I move files from different pcs. I can use it with my phone also. It is using a usb c otg adapter. Sometimes i use it when i install windows on my pc. It acts as my bootable device.
