State Elementary School Building 30 Bireuen Burns Down.
The State Elementary School (MIN) 30 Bireuen building located in Kuta Gle, Batee Iliek, Samalanga District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province caught fire at around 14:57 WIB, Monday, 31/3/2025.
With the swift assistance of residents and assisted by firefighters from the Simpang Mamplam Assistant Post and the Bireuen Main Post, the fire that burned the room used as a warehouse was successfully extinguished.
Information obtained, at that time passers-by and the community of Gampong Bate Iliek, Samalanga District, Bireuen, were celebrating Eid al-Fitr and were immediately shocked to see MIN 30 Bireuen burning.
The fire incident in the warehouse behind the school located in Leupe Hamlet, on the side of the Banda Aceh-Medan road, the cause of the fire is not yet known for sure.
One of the local residents stated that a fire suddenly appeared and grew bigger, burning one of the school buildings. Knowing that there had been a fire, local residents immediately came to put out the fire with simple equipment.
Next, residents used simple equipment to help douse the fire and asked for help from firefighters. The firefighters arrived shortly after and the flames were extinguished.
Receiving information about the fire, the Bireuen Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) immediately deployed four fire engines, two from the Simpang Mamplam Assistant Post and two from the Bireuen Main Post.
Upon arriving at the location, the fire was extinguished and did not spread to the religious school classroom building. There were no fatalities in this incident.
The Head of MIN 30 Bireuen, Elina (57) said that the room that caught fire was a warehouse for storing used furniture. It is not yet known where the fire came from.
"At that time, I was on my way home from visiting relatives from our mother's house in Beureunun, when I heard news that the school was on fire, I immediately came here. Thank God, the fire was extinguished, although the source of the fire is not yet known," he explained.
