Steem Representative Weekly Report #42nd from [12th-19th Feb, 2025]

Steem greetings @everyone and welcome to my blog as I present my 42nd report as the Steem Representative. It is yet another week for me to report on my activities on the platform for the week of 12th-19th February 2025.

It was another week of work with heads high while trying to scale a balance between offline commitments and business as usual on Steemit. This has not been without some hitches with poor internet connection signals, and frequent unannounced blackouts. It was somehow challenging but I had to seek alternative means to stay active on the platform.

That said, below I will share my different activities carried out across the platform within the above-stated period.

Steemit Promotion.

For this week's promotion activities, I continued preaching about Steemit to 05 people. I assured them that I would assist in creating an account and also guided them through the platform if they were interested in blogging. None of them has shown interest so far in creating an account. This goes with the adage “…you cannot take a horse to the stream and force it to drink water”. I do not want to pressure people into creating dormant accounts. I want those who are willing to blog, and I mentor them.

I equally used my WhatsApp status to promote Steemit to my contacts. During this week’s promotion I was not able to create any new account but hopefully one day someone will find interest in creating an account.

Activities in Steem Cameroon Community.

It is a routine that every week we meet online and discuss how to better manage the community and this week was not indifferent. We continued to discuss strategies to follow up on some newbies' accounts as we noticed an increase in the number of newbies from Nigeria in the community.

We believe in the slogan “…we are stronger together”. Therefore we also discussed strategies to bring back inactive members. So far, some of the old inactive members are back though their activities on the platform are timid. We tried to encourage them to see the need for us to build a stronger community together.

As a plagiarism leader and actively fighting all forms of abuse in the community, I had to ensure that content creators create quality content free from any form of abuse on steemit. 02 user were cautioned to refrain from using copyrighted images and to also properly reference the free images used in their content.

I also caution steemians especially newcomers about clicking on phishing links and operating 3rd party DApps. This is because they risk losing their Steemit accounts to hackers. I also informed them about “account recovery” within 30 days if not they stand to lose the account to hackers.

I mentored some newbies via Discord on the importance of being consistent, creating quality content and most importantly engaging with other users via meaningful comments.

Content Creation.

It was another week for me to share content on diverse topics on the platform, though faced challenges with no internet signal due to blackouts. Below are some of the content I shared.

I equally engaged with other Steemit users by commenting and giving feedback on the posts.

Support Other Content Creators with @chant Account.

I used my effective Steem power of over 63k to support steemians with quality content on the platform.

Preference was given to authors writing creative and quality articles across the platform. Over the week, I reached out to 105 accounts and upvoted 133 posts with a CSI score of 18.4.

At this juncture, I have come to the end of my presentation of my weekly activities report.
