Hello everyone On this occasion I want to participate in a contest held by @ngoenyi about Contest Alert: Tell your story - Sorry! A Word That Unites following my previous entry I want to invite my friends @bossj23, @deetalka6 and @basil20 to participate in this contest

One afternoon I came to my friend who is a good friend told he will meet me for drink in the cenral city cafe.

We hadn't seen each other in forever, He was so busy. I was so primed up and having a run of the mill LONG conversation about all our mutual funny stories. No, I was nearly an hour late.

Heaving my way through the throngs of people on the street outside, I finally found where he was and it turns out he was all alone at corner of this cafe. I tense the bolt. I think I said "Sorry, late." First there was something I have to do. But instead, he looked colder than ever. was surprised. I thought the word "sorry" was enough to improve the atmosphere. But it didn't.

It was then that I realized that an apology alone is not enough if it is not accompanied by a full awareness of the mistake that was made. "What took you so long? I have been waiting on you for nearly an hour and now you say sorry" he said with monotone.

So I took a breath, faced him and said as if it were the truth the second time, “I am so sorry.” I should have let you know sooner or at minimum been more considerate of your time. This is not just dialogue wait but also respect

He thought for a moment and his face tweaked slightly in acknowledgment. Thanks for freely admitting it, I said.

The atmosphere then got better and we started to have proper meeting without awkwardness.
And from that incident, I realized that saying sorry is not just a form of words but should also include empathizing to the feelings of other and take responsibility for when stuff happened.

  1. Respect Other People's Time - I started to be more disciplined in managing my time and tried to be on time for every meeting.

  2. Communicate Lateness Immediately - If I have to be late, I will let others know early so that others do not have to wait in uncertainty.

  3. Be More Empathetic – I try to be more understanding that everyone has their own busy lives, and their time is just as valuable as mine.
