"This is my story where Sorry saved the situation"

The word sorry has saved so many people from critical situations and issues that would have extended to a point of regret or crying over a spilt milk because it helps melten the heart of the person you offended in one way or the other, but despite the fact that this word sorry has been helpful in our daily life some people still finds it very hard to say it even when are at fault due to pride and egotistic that makes them believe that they are right in some situations.

Growing up as a child we sometimes finds it funny to offend people mostly our elders for fun thinking it right.
Some years back when i was still in primary school that should be class five every Friday we normally dismissed by 12:00pm in the afternoon because some of the muslims students usually go to mosque to pray that was the reason behind the early dismissal this particular day but for me and some of my friends it was a free day for us instead of going home direct to help our parents with some house chores and errands we will pass through a bush track so that we can cut sugarcane in somebody farm and be eating on our way home, this was our usually routine every Friday because the owner of the farm must have gone home by then that gives us freedom to enter the farm.

Unfortunately for us one Friday as we were cutting the sugar as usual we heard a voice in the entrance of the farm "who dey my farm" in pigin english and we were shocked and confused that we ran to different directions except the entrance of the farm where the owner was standing, as i have almost reached the edge of the farm that leads to main road i heard one of my friends voice shouting that we should come back there is no point of us running that he has been caught by the owner through his school bag that he left in the farm
I don't know if others heard him but as for me this gave me a pause and i was contemplating like is there any need to run why not i go back and ask for forgiveness instead of allowing him come to our house later with my friend to report me to my parents which will make even worst, so i went back and saw two of my friends which is the one that was caught and one of them that as well came back to plead with the owner of the farm, so out of seven of us that ran away four escape then three of us was just begging and pleading with the man to forgive us after about some minutes of kneeling down begging with the man that we are sorry he finally accepted by saying the only way he can forgive us is by directing him to those that run away their houses, in my taught i was not okay with his idea because is just like him going to their house is indirectly reporting all of us before i could think further what to do one of my friend who has been shaking like fowl soaked by rain started calling their names and their address luckily for us he forgive us and ask us to go but that shouldn't repeat itself again otherwise the consequence will be huge, he later reported those of my friends that ran away to their parents and i believe they received a serious punishment, when they noticed that we that went back to plead was spare they were regretting the action they took by running away instead of coming back to plead for forgiveness earlier.

How i wished i didn't go there at first i wouldn't have gotten my self in that mess that is why sometimes we need to think about the consequences of our actions before embarking on it because in some cases there is nothing sorry can do about it, because they are people who don't listen to sorry talkless of forgiving you because sorry makes them feels assive what you did was intentionally and them to forgive you will give you access to do what you did before, so instead of saying sorry later try your possible means to avoid issues that will make you say it.
