INTRODUCTION

It is a clear fact known to the married couples with kids, married couples without kids, and even the singles, that the task of parenting especially in this smart age, is not easy one. The task of Parenting could be said to get started as soon as a child is conceived in the womb.

As soon as the child is born, the first basic needs of the child would be provided. These basic needs are:

• Food
• The Clothing and
• The shelter. These needs are also termed as the general basic needs of man.

As the child grows, responsibilities would be on the parents to keep taking care of the child.

What Does Being Smart Mean To You?

This time around, we often here about people talking about being smart. Although several opinions about being smart may mean the same thing, the choice of words may not be the same. My understanding about being smart is conveyed by the words that I choose to explain it. So it may not likely do same for you but may also have the same meaning. The case may also be different because we may not have the same method or approach as we go through the journey of becoming smart.

For me, I would describe being smart as ‘knowing everything about one thing, and kowing little about everything.’ My reason for this is that, we can only be an expert in one field, and then our being expert is supported or sustained by some borrowed knowledge from other fields.

Let us be interactive as possible as we can here, as this article really demands. Now in your own opinion, how could you describe a smart kid? Parents and teachers here please, help us out!!!. I do not know if there is a perfect description or definition of a smart kid because how ambiguity the term seems to be. Even as adults and as smart as we think we are, there are many aspects that we are defficient.

To paint a picture to see if we could describe a smart kid, let us look at this. There are outstanding qualities that a child could possess even at a tender age. At a tender age, a kid could possess some qualities of creativity, brilliance, artistic, perceptive, curiousity, sensitive etc, that makes him or her to standout. These qualities may begin to point out that the child may be or become smart.

By now, we would have been convinced that child training is an enormous task to perform. parents go extra miles to give their kids the best they deserve to give their kids a better hold unto their future. For this to happen, parents source for trainings which I would describe as early age smart skills, that could broaden the child's knowlege.

To put the kids on the smart lane of performance, some measures are needed to be set for them. These required measures could include:

• Early child education enrolment

• Teaching Social interaction skills

• Home chores training

• Cognitive or brain enhancing games like puzzles, chess, riddles, blocks, checkers etc.

• Having outside home trips for the kids

• Engaging the kids in few minuites exercise

These and many more others are required in developing smart kids.
