Hello Everyone

On February 20, 2025, 22 teams participated in a colorful debate competition organized by the Debate Club of Government Titumir College. This competition held on the college premises yesterday played an important role in developing the students' sense of logic, eloquence and analytical thinking.
Before the start of the debate competition, each team was preparing in its own way. They were seen starting group studies in groups of three at different points. And the preparation of each team was very good.
The program was inaugurated by the Principal of the college, Professor Shilpi Rani Mondal. In her speech as the chief guest, she said, “Debate enhances the analytical power of students and develops the ability to present correct arguments, which is helpful in shaping future leadership.”
22 teams formed from different departments of Government Titumir College participated in the debate competition. The competition was divided into three stages—preliminary, semi-final and final phase. The main topic of the debate was the education system, contemporary social, political and economic issues.
The finals of the competition were held. After a heated debate between them, the judges decided that Jal Tarang would win. Palash Ahmed won the best speaker award.
This was the first debate of my life. I was very nervous in the first round. But I did much better in the subsequent rounds.
Teachers, students and invited guests from various departments of the college were present at the event. Tasnuva Akhter, president of the debate club, said, “Our goal is to develop logical thinking among the students and encourage them to practice debate more.”
At the end of the event, prizes were distributed among the winning and participating teams. The organizers expressed their hope to organize a debate competition on a larger scale in the future.
