A Guide to Faisalabad GTS Bus Stand – The City of Textiles
Hello everyone!
Today I am here to visit Faisalabad Bus Stand for the first time in my life. And I am going to guide you about this bus stand.

Before starting the visit of the bus stand I would like to give short description about the Faisalabad city. This city of Pakistan is famous because of it's fabrics industry. Almost all the fabric stuff in Pakistan is produced here and then it is supplied to the country. Faisalabad also exports fabrics because of their good quality and matchless demand. Faisalabad is the city of textiles.

This is the central GTS Chowk. GTS stands for Government Transport Service. Actually it is a government bus stand allocated for the public to use it. As I mentioned earlier Faisalabad is the city of textiles, this is the reason it's famous Chowk GTS is embellished with the thread 🧵 tubes and needle in them. This Chowk is circular and leads the transport inside the bus stand.

As soon as we enter the bus stand from the GTS Chowk we see the bus terminals. Each terminal has specific vehicles for the specific route. There are vans, buses and many other vehicles. If you want to go to sheikhupura then you can get the transport. Similarly if you want to go to Lahore, Hafiz Abad, Sahiwal, Bhalwal, Peer Mahal and even Karachi you can easily get transport which suits you the best. Each vehicle has a banner on its roof for the easy navigation of relevant vehicles for the travelers. There are different companies which run their transport services through this Government Transport Services bus stand.

If we move further there is another big bus terminal. This vast terminal has the vehicles for the different routes such as Mamo Kanhan, Jaranwala, Bhakkar, Samandari, Okara, Sahiwal, and Lahore. At the terminals there are guides who are continuously calling and guiding the people about their travelling and vehicle which will be suitable for their journey.

Because of the huge demands and load of traffic and transport at the back of the old bus stand a new stand is also built. It is wide and large with around 8 different booths. At each booth different vehicles from coasters to large busses stay and turn by turn according to the schedule they depart to their routes. At each booth the tickets are available and in order to sit in the bus we need to buy the tickets. In some local areas first the passengers sit and then the conductor comes to collect the travelling fees.

This big bus stand has a dedicated waiting area by the government. The passengers can stay in the waiting area free of cost. Anyone can wait in this place. The waiting area is divided into two parts. One part is for the male waiting and in the other section the women can wait. It has two doors one for the men and the other for the women.

There are metal chairs in the waiting area in both the sections of the waiting area. It is neat and clean. The sweepers are available there all the time who takes care of it's cleanliness. We can see everything is aligned and in a symmetry. There are dustbins in the corners so that the wrappers and other wastes can be added to them to maintain the beauty.

This waiting area is very suitable to stay in the summer season as well. The roof has fans. According to my rough counting there are 12 fans for the passengers. So if you want to stay to wait for anyone like your family or transport then you can easily stay in this waiting area whether it is winter season or summer season.

For the ease of the passengers in the waiting area there are a total of 4 washrooms. 2 washrooms are for the men section and 2 for the women. The washrooms are neat and clean with a basin in them. But here are some charges so please note these charges. There are 20 rupees per head charges to use washroom. These are implement to maintain it's cleanliness and good service. And these are the reasonable charges.

The bus stands cannot be completed without the food stalls such as fastfood and other fresh stalls. So I'm the GTS Faisalabad Bus Stand there are many food stalls for the facility of the passengers. There are fresh naan, potato and egg fried patties as visible in the picture. This is famous with the local name Aloo Tikki These are very tasty and along with these things they provide raita and salad as well. There is the curry of chickpeas famous for the breakfast. We can easily buy a naan and a fritters with salad and raita in just 50 Pakistani rupees.

Fruits are the part of every place. At this bus stand there are fruit stalls as well. Fresh fruits are available. At this fruit stall there were juicy oranges and fresh apples full of juice. We if we are not fond of fast food we can get fresh fruits to eat. I bought 1 kg of oranges for 200 PKR. This price is also normal than other areas.

So this is all about the GTS bus stand Faisalabad which is the city of textiles. I went to this bus stand because I had to get the bus from this bus stand to reach Dera Ismail Khan. I will share my that journey as well in my upcoming posts.
