Rescuing a Nile Monitor: A Surprising Encounter at Home
It was the August when this happened to me that I captured a small but very active Nile monitor lizard 🦎. You can be surprised to know that I also capture the snacks but not professionally. I do it for the sake of my passion. It is common to kill these types of reptiles which includes snakes as well. Because these are considered dangerous and people of my area are afraid of these organisms.
So if I see any innocent snake or such lizard in my surroundings then I capture them but I do not kill them even I am always advised to kill them. I leave them in far off places away from the population so that they can live there.
So one day in the summer season this lizard came in my home from the surroundings. The family noticed it but did not focus a lot as they did not see it completely. They considered that it must be a simple lizard which is commonly found in the houses. But finally my wife saw this lizard walking in the house and she screamed loudly and ran towards the room.
After seeing this lizard my wife called me. I came from the shop to home to see it. It hid under the table and everyone was afraid of it's entry to the rooms because if it enters the room then it will become hard to detect it and capture it. But fortunate it was outside the rooms. I saw it and I tried to fetch it with the help of the stick but it did not work.
Then I removed the table from that side with the help of my brother. And my brother was also afraid of this lizard and he suddenly ran away seeing it crawling. Now I had to capture it. I got a clothe and took an amity box. I captured it carefully with the help of the clothe and put it into the box. It was very dynamic and was walking consistently making it hard to capture it.
It was dark brown from upper side with scars and from the lower side the colour was change as it can be seen in the pictures. It had big eyes with long mouth. It had four legs which were helping it to run quickly.
So I used it to make fun of th family members and children of the neighbours. After this I sent this lizard to an appropriate place where it will not hurt the human beings.
