This is the true life story of Lydia who is my very close friend. In our early years in the university Lydia and John started dating when they were still in school as of then, John was in his final year studying medical laboratory science, whereas Lydia was in her second year studying nursing science.

Lydia and John were so in love that everyone believed they would end up getting married, at the end of John's studies at the university, John then went for his internship program and while doing his internship, his communication with Lydia was still very strong. Sometimes Lydia would leave school to visit John at his place of work most of the time John usually spent weekends at Lydia's place. The parents of Lydia know John very well and they always see John as a responsible person, and they always call John my in-law. John's dad knows Lydia very well but his mother doesn't to Lydia that much as she usually goes out for her business. Finally, it was time for John to settle down and his mother had been disturbing him to get married so she could carry her grandchild.

Due to the Love that John has for Lydia, he chooses to marry Lydih brings Lydia to his parent's house, and introduces her as her wife to be to her mother. John's mother became angry with John and said to John that he must not get married to her. John's mother was against John marrying Lydia because she is not from the eastern part of Nigeria, but from the North.

For the Love that John has for Lydia, he kicks against his mother's wish and tells her that if he doesn't get married to Lydia who is the person to his heart then he wouldn't get married to anyone, he should remain single then to get married to another lady expect it is Lydia. After about everything, John's mother had no option but to allow John to get married to Lydia who is the woman of his heart. Today as we all read this, Lydia and John are happily married with two children and they are both in the United Kingdom enjoying life.

Moral Lessons

The impact that the story of John and Lydia had on me is a positive impact that makes me optimistic about myself when it comes to relationships. I have learned that in a relationship if you love someone will go the extra mile to keep the person with you. If you love someone you wouldn't like to lose the person no matter what, you will do everything possible to secure your relationship with the person just as John did you secure his relationship with Lydia.
