Waiting for Clarity on Mixed Pertamax | Kawal Kasus Pertamina Sampai Akhir |

The mixed Pertamax case still raises big questions. There are still many unanswered questions since the Attorney General's Office announced the arrest of Pertamina officials on Tuesday (25/2/2025).

Various responses from officials related to the DPR-RI did not answer the questions, instead they raised new questions and suspicions because their statements contradicted each other.

The Attorney General's Office has named seven suspects in the alleged corruption case of oil management and refinery production. The case occurred in the environment of PT Pertamina Subholding and the Cooperation Contractor (KKS) in the period 2018 - 2023 which caused a state loss of IDR 197.3 trillion.

The Director of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes or Jampidsus of the Attorney General's Office, Abdul Qohar, explained that RON 90 or Pertalite fuel was paid for at the price of RON 92 or mixed Pertamax.

This statement was denied by the Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Heppy Wulandari. As surfaced in the mass media, she ensured that there was no adulteration of Pertamax after the alleged corruption case of oil management surfaced. The quality of Pertamax is guaranteed to be in accordance with the specifications set by the government, namely RON 92.

Pertamina's explanation, no matter how logical, was unable to erode public doubt. Various negative comments, even tending to be loud, were voiced by the public through various channels. If you listen to the anger and disappointment of the public on various social media platforms, it is clear that the public no longer trusts any explanation from Pertamina, ministers, or even politicians who have responded to this case with various policies. When brought to the political realm, the political nuances will be more dominant.

So, let this problem remain in the legal realm. The public is waiting for the results of the Attorney General's Office to make this case clear. The people involved in the series of alleged corruption must be prosecuted without discrimination, whoever is behind it.

It is time for the law to be made the commander in this country, no longer used as a toy by politicians and a bargaining tool or a tool to beat up political opponents.

There is also hope that the Attorney General's Office will consistently prosecute the case until it reaches trial. The Attorney General's Office must not be harsh at the beginning because there are other considerations outside the law. Likewise, the judges who will handle this case must be seen from their track records and not produce decisions like the giant corruption case at PT Timah some time ago.

The President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Simon Aloysius Mantiri, has apologized following the alleged corruption case. As conveyed in a press conference at Grha Pertamina in Jakarta, he supports the legal steps taken by the Attorney General's Office.

The apology and support for the legal process should not stop at the level of discourse alone. Pertamina must improve itself by carrying out clean-up actions. The mafia network that is suspected of controlling Pertamina must be cleaned up. People entrusted by political parties should no longer undermine the company owned by the people.[]
