Contest- My National Emblems | Stork

People tend to make something or someone a symbol and birds, as a symbol of the country in which I live are one of them, which is what I want to share with you about my participation in Contest- My National Emblems | Bird organized by @steem4bangladesh.

Stork is one of the symbols of Ukraine.

There is no stork on the coat of arms of Ukraine but some time ago a gold commemorative coin Stork with a denomination of 2 hryvnia was issued on which a stork was depicted.

The stork is a bird that is one of the first migratory birds to return home from warm regions in the spring and it brings spring to Ukraine on its wings.

Storks are mongamous their pairs are strong and they build their nests not far from human settlements.

There are many legends about storks for example when children asked how they were born they were told what the stork brought to their parents.

If an old stork is exhausted its children take care of it this is an important quality that makes one respect this bird.

They say that if one of the people destroys a stork's nest the stork will take revenge on him.

Yes, in those times when legends were composed the roofs of houses were made of straw and people said that a stork left without a nest would find a fire take a burning branch from it and throw it on the roof of its offender.

I cannot confirm the veracity of these legends since I have not seen storks at such critical moments for their lives but I have often observed the peaceful life of these birds which often build huge nests on telegraph poles.

You can often see chicks there which are constantly hungry and their parents feed them vigorously and work tirelessly in search of food.

Storks love our places where there are many swamps which means there is a lot of food frogs snakes and mice with their hunting they regulate the population of these animals and love is grateful to storks for this.

This is the feathered symbol of Ukraine.
