My Unique Recipe

I prepared a delicious African cuisine called Palmkernel soup or “abak” soup in my language.
It is a soup made from palm fruits and a vegetable called “atama”. It is a really healthy meal as it contains nutrients that helps in proper growth and development.
There are some health benefits of Palm kernel oil. It is rich in antioxidants and contains vitamin E which supports good skin, immune function and eye health. It is also a very good source of protein essential for muscle growth
INGREDIENTS AND PREPARATION
Palm Fruit
Meat
Fish
Crayfish
Periwinkles
Seasoning cubes
Atama leaf
Cow skin
Pepper
One bulb of onions
STEP1
Wash the palm fruit well and boil it for above 30 minutes.
When it is soft, remove it and pound vigorously so that the chaff is let out and the seeds are showing.
STEP2
Boil water and make sure it is fully boiled then use it to sieve the chaff out and drain the palm oil liquid out until the chaff is clear.
STEP3
Use the boiling water again to rinse the atama leave and remove the bitter taste, then leave it in sieve to drain the water.
STEP4
Wash the meat, fish, periwinkles and cow skin especially the cow skin to remove all the dirt and sand, then season the stock with pepper, salt and onions. Boil it for about twenty minutes.

STEP5
Add the palmoil liquid into the pot and add the meat,fish and cow skin as well, add pepper, onions and salt to taste and then add some pounded cocoyams to thicken the soup.
STEP6
Add the atama leave inside the soup and make sure everything tastes well
Atama soup is ready to be eaten.
I made “garri” to eat the soup with. Garri is made from cassava.

Nice recipe you have here. In my place we call it ofe akwu and I prefer to use it to eat white rice. There’s also a version for soup. Nice recipe.
