Hello guys!

Hope you're having a good time at your domain out there. I'm great here. Weekends and Sundays hold great moments for me. They are times to worship my Almighty as well as for leisure and enjoyment. My activities last Sunday were fun filled. I had a great time with the children in the church. One of them was celebrated. Stay with me let me take you on a journey of how my Sunday was.

I love children quite well. This could be as a result of the fact that I have worked with children over the years now in and outside the classrooms, starting from nursery to the high school children.

I have decided as a pastor that I would have time for the children that Sunday just to make them feel important among the adults. I had planned this for a long time and yesterday was the D-Day.

Before Sunday, I had bought small bottle drinks, juice, biscuits and a cake to celebrate any of them whose birthday would fall on April. So on that Sunday morning, I had woken up earlier. By 5am, I was already up after my prayers to appreciate God for his protection.

Immediately prayers, I went to assist my wife in house chores so we could reach the church early. I helped her sweep the floor, bath the children while she was preparing breakfast. By 7am, we were through. I took bath, ate breakfast and then took my family to the church.

When I arrived at the church by 7.40am, I started the service. Praise and worship that was handled by bro. Ubong Udonta set the tone for the entire service. We started with just six members. But gradually, many people started trooping in, in numbers and the house was filled. One item after the other took turns. Gradually the service came to an end by 11.30am.

Immediately after the dismissal of the first service, I gave an announcement that the church be decorated for me to celebrate the children. Although many children didn't come to service that day, the few that came were given a special treat that would linger in their memories.

Master MmeyeneAbasi John took the day. It was this child that had his birthday on April. I ordered other children to cluster around him to celebrate him. He was two years old by April 13th this year. I offered a prayer for him. I requested God to preserve him, give him wisdom as he prepares to start school come September.

To colour the occasion, I asked all the children some questions that attracted gifts. Those who answered correctly, went home with awards. It was a great and exciting moment. My love for children knows no bounds.

After all said and done, everyone was entertained. Many persons had gone home after the normal sunday service but those who waited were entertained greatly.

The celebration came to an end by 2.45pm. From the church, my wife and I went to visit a family who had dedicated their child in the church. We weren't able to attend their church service because it came at the same time we were in the church. So we had to honour the invitation. I spent about two hours there with the baby.

I came back home by 5.20pm and was tired. I immediately took a shower just to refresh myself and then relaxed with a movie. This took me till 7pm, where I prepared a note of lesson that I will teach my literature students on Monday, the following day. Since they are taking Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination this month, I had to stay with them to prepare them adequately even when the school had closed for the term.

That was how my Sunday with the children was. I love children. God bless MmeyeneAbasi.

Thank you for reading my post. Do have a nice time. Keep steeming.
