Hello steemit world! Accept warm greetings from me. As promised here is the next series of the music theory I started some days ago. If you missed the first one check out here.
In our first session we talked about scales. Now I'm breaking it down talking about the major scale. Follow along.
Th major scale is also known as the diatonic scale.
Advantages of the major scale
- It is the simplest of all scales
- it is easier for one to sing and play in it
- it is used by song writers everyday
- it has a familiar feeling to everyone
Harmony in the major scale
There are twelve major scales in music and each of the scales has as follows 👇
- 3 major chords
- 3 minor chords
- 1 dominant 7 chord
- 1 diminished chord
As seen above we have 8 chords in total for each scale. See photo below
