Steem Cameroon Contest : National or International awareness day Contest ( World Down Syndrome Day )
Hello steemians of Cameroon and the world, i am very delighted to once again take part in this contest done by #steemcameroon. Today's contest will be about the world downs syndrome day and i hope my presentation wins the prize.
Down syndrome is a disease that affects a few out of many persons. It is caused by extra chromosome to the total number of chromosomes the normal chromosome number is 23 pairs and in the case of down syndrome it can go up to 23 pairs plus 1. It can also be caused by a genetic mutation which alters the chromosome count and gets it higher than the normal.
World day of Down syndrome was orchestrated by the United Nations on the 21st of 2011. The 21st was chosen as a significant day for the extra chromosome 21 of people with Down Syndrome. This day makes awareness of the people who suffer from this disease.
My Mascot for for this day's celebration is a globe with smily eyes, a chromosome bow tie, wearing a very big banner that says World Down Syndrome Day. I separted it into 4 parts which have great significance and they are the feet, the hands, the face and the body.
These are short and almost bent, these signify the ability for anyone especially people with down syndrome to walk through any situation that life throws at them. You can always walk through any situation that life throws at you and quitting is not an option.
Arms are wide open and one of them giving a thumbs up. There is always an energy that you should carry and the thumbs up inspires the affected and infected of the possibility of a good part in every case.
The face merged with the body and the neck has a really bright smile and that signifies a welcoming aura which has an attraction for everyone in the world. Below the lips is a chromosome bow tie which indicates the chromosomal cause of the syndrome.
A spherical, bouncy body which goes against the square nature of the syndrome which has taken the normal lives of most persons suffering from the Down syndrome. It is welcoming and appealing
