Official ... Borussia Dortmund player moves to the Premiership

Newcastle United have announced the transfer of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Michael Moreno to one season on loan.

Although Athletic Bilbao came close to signing the player a few days ago, the German club ultimately preferred to loan him to Newcastle, whose Spanish coach Rafael Benitez wants to take advantage of the services of his compatriot.

Miquel Moreno was in Spain's under-21 squad at the European Youth Championship in Poland, where he played the final against Germany, who won the title after beating Spain 1-0 recently.

The 21-year-old has moved to Borussia Dortmund from Osasuna last summer but has had little chance of being part of the German side because of multiple midfield options.
