As the name suggests, solar street lights are lights that are powered by photovoltaic panels/solar panels. The panels are usually fitted on the device itself or fixed in the pole that comes with the light. Rechargeable Battery – Once the solar panel has converted solar energy to electricity, it is stored in batteries that are rechargeable. These batteries recharge itself during the day and provide power during the night. They provide for more than one night but it depends on the capacity of the battery.

Pole – Like any street light, solar street lights also have a pole. The light along with other components like the solar panels are mounted on it. The poles must be strong because they bear the weight of the entire device.

Foundation Cage/Battery Box – These components are basically accessories that come with solar street lights.
